webviper Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hi folks I have a question; When I'm playing games in Mame, the bottom of the image comes slower than the top. (look at the street light in the video) Is this my graphic card (Ati 5700), my TV set (Samsung 32inch 100hz) or the emulator itself? Thanks in advance

webviper Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Have you tried enabling Vsync? Did the trick for me! Hero!

DrMaxwell Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 This is typical screen tearing. Gigapig is correct in that you need to start by setting VSync_enabled = 1 in your mame.ini if you are emulating through mame. Another option, if you are using a 100Hz CRT, is to download GroovyMAME, which switches refresh rates and resolutions based on the game. This will help with both input latency issues and screen tearing. If you are using and a non CRT based display, then grab a copy of RetroArch and use the MAME core to play without screen tearing and reduced input latency.
