Ghutch Startup Script?

My new build (trying to make it pretty compact, so basically after the machine and Hyperspin are started the keyboard/mouse can go away) only has a USB joystick available.

Everything seems to be a go at this point...

The question I have come to (without wrecking everything I have just done by screwing with the settings), is do I need to have xpadder and the Ghutch startup script? Will the startup script allow me utilize my USB joystick for controlling hyperspin and then when I start a game control MAME, or do I need xpadder installed with Ghutch code to allow me to do that?

If both, I would get the xpadder up and running and then the script?

If I need both, where do I store xpadder and associated files?

Thanks

You could have asked this in the Startup Script thread, unless you did ad got no response :)

Give the Startup Script a try it won't mess your settings up and if it doesn't work just remove it. I use a 360 controller which works but I'm not sure about generic controllers, I pretty sure it does.

You don't need Xpadder, well only for very specific tasks of certain emulators, definately don't use xpadder with Mame, all Mame controls should be set in the emulator.

To put this simple......

Ghutch92 made the script so that you do not need Xpadder. AMAZING!!! And it works as perfectly as you would expect. If your going for a normal setup, just use this and never have to worry about anything else. All as the script does is allow you to control Hyperspin... nothing more.

So the implications from this is that you will need to set up controls for all of your emulators, within the emulator. Sounds like a pain in the aass.... but to be honest its not and you mostly do it anyways whilst your installing.

PROBLEMS WITH THE SCRIPT....

I can name 2 off the top of my head, no fault to the script, its just he way it works...

1. If you setup Dolphin Emulator and you want to use WiiMotes, it has huuuuuge controller issues. This is ONLY if your using WiiMotes!!!

2. Some games you need Xpadder. TaitoType X has some games that you cannot change the keys. You will need it for this systems.

GOOD POINTS...

1. It has the best Icon for the script I have ever seen.. That thing is AMAZING, whoever made it?????

2. Its simple as shit to use and to get up and running.

3. Point 2 again... its soo fucking simple and should come as standard on Hyperspin/hyperlaunch install files.

There you go... if it ticks the boxes, defo use it. If you have some of the problems you cant.... simples :)
