Daphne Control Support with Hyperlaunch 2.x

Hello All,

I struggled with getting Daphne and Hyperlaunch 2.25C working the way I wanted for a while. Finally got it all ironed out and working nicely and wanted to share a few notes that may help others in my boat. Also, huge thanks to jonnieboyrevel as his "sort of" guide got me on the right path. (A 'Sort Of' Guide to Daphne)

Configuration:

I am using an ArcadeVGA to 15k Arcade monitor and HotRodSE controls (transplanted to an arcade cabinet)

Windows 7 64bit

Main Issue Encountered:

I could not get Daphne to recognize the controls I configured in DaphneLoader. I tried the method pointed out by jonnieboyrevel in changing the top line of the Daphne Settings.ini that referenced "homedir= ." to the actual path of my daphne emulator folder. This would not work.

What did work is creating a dapinput.ini file as suggested by the Daphne Wiki https://www.daphne-emu.com:9443/mediawiki/index.php/Input.

I had to alter my coin and button keys to match my input controller. The list of keys are in a link call keylist and is available from the Daphne wiki link to customize controls for Daphne.

Hope that helps anyone. There were a few other items I had to work through such as dropping opengl 2.0 support since my videocard didnt support it and assigning the right exit emulator keys. Once through that, daphne is solid now.

Glad you got it working, but just want to make it clear to anyone that reads this. This is not HyperLaunch related at all, nor are any configs you did above. This is strictly getting it to run how you need it to via CLI instead of through daphne launcher. Same goes for every other emulator, it is your job to set your keys in the emu to how you need them.

Totally, thanks djvj. I wasn't sure where to put this as I only had the issue when launching a rom via hyperlaunch, controls came across fine when using daphneloader directly. Thanks a ton for your great modules.

Np man, and this is the correct section. From the title, it makes it sound like it's something related to HL, so I just wanted to clarify.

Question: Did you figure out how to not use the spacebar as your sword in dragon's lair1/2? I mapped it to another button and it's still looking for the spacebar. Weird.

This is a pretty old thread. Are you using HL2 or RL? With RL and the new module for Daphne, you can customize the controls per game if you want. Here is a guide for RL and Daphne: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29410-Complete-Guide-for-Daphne-in-HyperSpin-and-RL
