The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Will moving CD-based games and emulators over to an SSD help load times?

I'm not happy with how long it takes for SSF, ePSXe, 4DO and Fusion to load isos (it makes it look like Hyperspin is not responding to my command to start the game.) If i moved these emulators and isos over to an SSD should that make the games launch a lot faster?

ssd drives are very small and expensive. Espesially for disk based systems. What I do is....

Store them on a normal large drive. But gave the compressed. I then tell hyperlaunch to decompress the files onto a ssd. So even though they ain't stored there.. they run from one. In fact I 7z every system apart from MAME for this exact reason

Note that ita not healthy for ssd drives to work like this

I decided to take the plunge and picked up a 480GB drive which should hold my games just fine and it was only $160. I'm guessing if the solution you laid out made things go faster for you then putting everything onto the drive should work well too.

Are you using fade? That gives you an idea that something is going on, :)

I've not looked into using fade. Are there any guides to using it?
