rfancella
Hi, Is this a retrofit or a new build? Mine is an old Taito Cab. I gutted it and mounted aluminum angle on the sides near the bottom. Cut a 3/4" plywood shelf and mounted part of the case (I cut it down) and HDD bay on the ply, that way I can slide it out to work on it. I also added a shelf above for the stereo and mounted a subwoofer amp right below it. There is also a 12" sub mounted in the base. Thanks, Ron
Metalzoic
The old computer in my cabinet was mounted to the side of the cab itself with no case at all. Power supply mounted to the bottom etc... Huge pain in the ass to work on or deal with. The new PC I built into a CoolerMaster PC case so it is short and squat, wider than it is tall. This way there's no worry of it rocking around or tipping over when I move the cabinet. That way I don't have to bolt it down at all and can simply lift it out to work on it. fshgrind
I have an old case that I thought I would use but I guess I was worried about it getting to hot. Case doesnt have any fans. I dont plan on closing the case up, I was going to leave the one panel off. I have an old defender cabinet that I am using. Could just spring for a $40 dollar case that comes with fans...? rfancella
Nice! If you leave the side off, just mount a big fan on the back door. I used to have a complete case in mine. But even with fans, it was just blowing around hot air. So I cut up the case and only left the bottom and back plane. The fan blows out to vent any hot air and I have a couple vents in the bottom to draw in cool air. rfancella
I am just using one. It seems to be enough, even with the two audio amps in the cab. http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Coolermaster-200mm-Chasis-Fan-A23030-10CB-3DN-L1_1247.html Thanks, Ron Nice! How big are those fans?
