djsim Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hi Lads, Just wondering are there anyone using Ootake emulator for their emulation need? The issue I am having is that buttons 1 - 9 are used for turbo buttons \ hotkeys within the emulator. Is there anywhere I can disable these? I want to reassign these for other buttons inputs (like run, select etc) I don't see a config file as other emulators use? Thanks lads
esoteric Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I tried using Ootake but ran into the same problem. I switched over to Magic Engine and the UI for that is incredibly user-friendly. Unfortunately it's $20 for the full version but I didn't really see any other option since I was unable to get Retroarch working to use it's module to emulate. I feel like it's $20 well spent. http://www.reddit.com/r/HyperSpin/
dougan78 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Use mednafen or retroarch with mednafen core is another option I believe.
djsim Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks lads, for some reason, Magic Engine crawls on my setup, so I cannot use that all. I suppose I could use a 3 button setup which should get around that and do without Street \ Strip fighter :-) Its a pity when emulators lock down these buttons. I have never used retroarch, but it is always mentioned here, don't know if I could stomach setting up another emulator :-)

djsim Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks for the vid guide, I might give this a run so if you can use this for 80% of emulation needs. Not too fond of MESS, it works, but it just dosent look right.
