The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Roms Work in RocketLauncherUI but menu will not pull up in Hyperspin

Hi,

I'm having an issue where my roms path is set in both MAME and RocketLauncherUI. When I attempt to open the MAME wheel on Hyperspin, it just resets the screen back to the main menu. Please advise.

Thanks

I have the rompath set. Where are the extensions? I know it varies from computer to computer, but what exactly do they do? I'm also having trouble with RocketLauncherUI not finding any of my n64 roms even though I have the path set.

I'm also really confused about where to find a nonag+nomahjong+nocasino database and how all of that works. Obiviously, I'm new.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I think what you are taling about here are two different things. There are some compiled versions of MAME, MAMEUIFX and MESS that have no-nag, hi-score and other options built in.

There are also some edited MAME xml (database) files that have no-mahjong, no-mature and no-casino.

Those are all on the FTP, but you need Platinum access to get to it. ;)

Thanks,

Ron

^I see what you did there. I have everything working and was able to find a version of MAME that I like. However, HyperSpin is non-responsive when I try to start a game. I hit start and it does nothing. Any ideas on this one?

Also, If I'm updating my .151 roms to .159, do I need to install each of the update packs in sequential order or can I just skip to the .159 update pack?

Thanks

Y'all have been a big help already.

Okay,

So I found out the database names did not match the roms for the N64. If I try to change the file names manually, then Project 64 can't read them. Is there a way to fix this and make the databases match?

I'm still having trouble with MAME and Hyperspin. I don't believe there are any processes running in the background. I set hyperhq to use HL under the MAME wheel settings. Rom path has also been set, so have extensions. Everything seems to be configured in HL/RL because I can launch the games from the UI.  If I hit the "launch" rocket from RLUI it will play just fine. I even tried starting completely from scratch earlier with no success. This whole thing makes me want to pull my hair out.

No luck. This is really frustrating. I'm almost tempted to find an easier frontend. I've been working on this for 2 days and can't figure it out.

I've had the exact same issue this weekend and managed to resolve by running the RocketLauncer transition tool (available on RL). I was installing Hyperpin 1.3.3 & Rocketlauncer 1.0 turns out HS was looking for the older HyperLaunch rather than RocketLauncher, guessing the tool amends all the ini's and file paths etc.

No one has posted and single log or settings.ini yet? Whats going on ;)

Non platinum members will be using Hyperspin 1.3.3 if you are unsure when using the transition tool.
