UberNES Screensaver

Sound like xpadder isn't necessary. I have p1 and p2 controllers buttons set based on the controller. Both controllers have the same set up if you really look at them. I have p1 ready and I look for tmnt that has two players (I see Michelangelo and Donatello). I notice michalengelo plays fine as player one but player two doesn't move. I reset nes using player one button and still can't get player two movement to happen. If I exit the game I do notice that I can get the 2 player cursors to display and move games around

I'm not sure 2 player works in game yet. Both player one and two appear to have the same mapping. How did you make them work?

More testing and it seems that to get two players to work I first have activate player two by pressing a button so I can see the red and green arrows. Then when I select a two player game I have to have to move both arrows to the game and press the take over button. Note the game never goes to full screen in two player and I'm just playing on the video wall. Note one player zooms in. Also when just on one player I can move the video wall pages. Once I get the second player cursor I'm stuck on the one page of video wall

Can we get this to zoom in when playing two players?

When two cursors are displaying on the video wall can we get this to be able to page over on the video wall or have a way to turn off player two cursor?

Can we get this to just allow player two to just press a button while in a two player game to start playing?

Discovery, if I pause player one and move player two then press the take over button and unpause player one then player two is functional! Still have the issue with opening to full screen if two cursors are there and moving to the next page if two cursors are there though

Thanks again. Ha it turns out I don't have to press pause I just have to push the button on player two and take over the screen and it works. However the cursors displaying two of them on the wall doesn't allow you to zoom in or page over

Thanks

A lot of this is recapping what ninja2bceen has figured out, but I'll try to add some clarity on how the multiplayer stuff works: to get a 2-player game going, you need to have 2 game cursors on the movie wall. To play a 2P game, each cursor needs to highlight/select the same game, and each cursor needs to press the "take over" button. Whoever presses "take over" first gets the NES controller 1 slot, the next person gets controller 2.

You CAN "zoom in" on a 2P game, but there are some restrictions to make it work - to get a "zoomed-in" game, place both cursors on the desired game before either one "takes over". Also make sure that no other cursors are highlighting other games on the selected monitor. A bit confusing, but there is a certain logic to it.

Thinking about it more, I see a change that probably should be made: if a 2P joins a non-zoomed game, then it should zoom-in since both cursors are now aligned on the same game. Progress! :)

Thanks and don't forget that you can't move to the right or left or up or down a new page with two cursors even if they move together. Also note that once I got two cursors no matter the combo it wouldn't zoom. Xoom only worked with one cursor and 2 player could join after the zoom no problem

I haven't been able to reproduce the zoom issue; if you place both cursors on a game prior to "taking over" with either one, then it should zoom properly (provided there isn't a 3rd cursor elsewhere on the monitor.) I still need to make the update where a second player taking over/joining in a game should trigger a "zoom" effect. Regarding the scrolling up/down/left/right to bring in new pages, it's like that by design. The thinking was that I didn't want one cursor to be able to move another cursor around the screen by triggering page scrolls, especially if someone is playing a game.

I've got a couple other ideas I want to implement before posting a new beta/revision. Please bear with me! :D

Thanks for the scrolling try this

Player one enters a game and exits

Player one scrolls over a page

Player one enters a game

Player two enters that games live

Player one and two exit the game

Player one scrolls to a new page but is stopped

Player two moves to same location but is stopped

Player one and player two presses the same key say right to scroll to next page but it doesn't

Wake up screen saver and go back to sleep
