romeo20007 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I Need the official list of roms that hyperspin supports so is there a software to recognize the roms supported by hyperspin? other roms should not supported should be ignored.
Fromlostdays Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Hyperspin doesn't support any particular roms. The official XMLS are usually written in the no intro format, but only the xml cares. Hyperspin doesn't. For instance, if you create your own xml that isn't no intro, hyperspin will still launch the games if everything else is in order. You'll just have to rename any artwork and vids to match. Walter:beerglass:
romeo20007 Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 The problem is that hyperspin does not recognize my roms since the names are diferent from my rom list or hyerspin has a default list of names which are not what i have I need to be able to build a romlist from my own folder!!! there was a software that did this which i downloaded from here but do not have any longer!!! It build a xml list from my existing rom folder

Vitali Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I know this thread is a few days old now, but I do have a question along the same lines as OP. I've got my ROMs all separated into folders and ready to use for individual emulators, however because of how they are named they aren't just good to go right out of the box (so to speak). I don't have any problem renaming my ROMs to fit the naming standard Hyperspin has upon download, but is there and easier way to compare lists than opening and scrolling through the XML file and my ROM folder side by side? I was looking for something like a text files list of Hyperspin's name for each game that I could use to just replace ROM names with, unless there is an even easier way. Thanks in advance for any advice! [EDIT]: I would like to avoid making a custom XML file because i've already downloaded the EMUVideo files and artwork with HyperSync, and figure that changing all those files over to fit my poorly named ROMs would be even more work. [EDIT 2]: I checked out some of the tools in the Downloads sections as Ninja2bceen suggested to OP, and found Hyperspin RomManager. I reading through it, and it looks like it might be what im looking for. I am going to give it a shot and see how things go!
ninja2bceen Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 You could use fat match in the downloads page under third party apps. When in the first tab, under the roms field, put ur path to ur videos folder where the name is correct. Then in the media field in the second blanks put in your path for your roms. Rename by best result and you roms will magically rename to your video names Man that's sick! I love what you made here and would love to add it to my set up! Don't forget to upload it to the download page! Vitali Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 [uPDATE] I used the RomManager and it was exactly what I wanted! Sure there were a few hiccups, but for 90+% of the NES ROMs I had it matched everything up very nicely. There were some I had to manually select the correct game just because the ROM name I had downloaded was pretty far off of what Hyperspin wanted. After finalizing the list I hit the "Run" button, and it copied all the ROMs I selected, renamed them for Hyperspin, and moved them to a new folder so they wouldn't be mixed in the the other files. 10/10 would use RomManager again (and likely will for my SNES, Sega, etc... ROMs in the near future!). [Edit] Going this route meant I didnt need to rename any art files or video files either.
