doyoudesign Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I'm setting up the other systems now... Mame works fine. And Neo Geo works fine. I put the other system roms into the roms folder and RocketLauncher can not see any of them? sega/NES/turboGrafx Are my roms bad? Any advice appreciated.
doyoudesign Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Ok...figured out why it's not seeing my roms... The compressed file names are not the same as the names in the system audit... So instead of "3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA)" the rom file shows, "3 Ninjas Kick Back" When I matched them identical Rocket L found the rom. Any advice on how to rename a LOT of files? Thanks.
gigapig Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Use Hypertools or Tur-Matcher, both should be in the downloads section.
doyoudesign Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Where does one find the Hyperspin naming convention XML list? This programs looks like what I need but have no idea where xml doc is to rename the roms?
gigapig Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 They are in the HyperSpin Database folder and will be named after the system name. If you don't have one you can try the Downloads section ^^^, if there isn't one there you can create your own using Create Hyperlist in HyperTools.
planetoide Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Use Don's HyperSpin Tools (Dons HyperSpin ROM Renamer) if Database file use crc.
doyoudesign Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 I downloaded Hypertools and have no idea how to use it? I looked up how to use it and nothing pops up?? Any advice on how to use this? Tahankes
gigapig Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Back up your Roms before proceeding. Choose the Rename Roms exe . 1. Load the xml from your HS Database folder, the one named after the system. 2. Point to your Roms or drag the folder into the window. 3. The file extension should populate by itself, but you should only have 1 or 2 in there. 4, Have a quick look at the xml, if you see something like "<crc>B2A3D42D</crc>" on each game entry then check the "Match using CRC" box, otherwise uncheck it as it can take a long time but it is more reliable. It may also only work with zipped Roms. 5. Chose the naming convention that best matches your Rom set. Click scan. Once scanning has finished the results box will show up. The left box is the XML the right is your Roms. Also check the Unresolved just above the left XML box, that will tell you how many games have not been matched. If it says 0 then your good and you can click the "Rename Checked Roms at the bottom and choose one of the save options. If however you have unresolved then you need to go down each list and try to match the xml entry to the Rom. if you find the entries match then select the entry on the left and the Rom on the right, then click the "Match" in the top left. Do the same for the remaining unresolved entries then click the "Rename Checked Roms". That's it.
doyoudesign Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 I'm not seeing what your screen shot shows. I see as menu headers: Main menu XML, ROms and media check, roms xml, Log viewer, Parameters. On the left says Systems. The name is HyperT00ls v1.4.0.0 Did I download the right thing?
doyoudesign Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Sega Genesis: First game is: 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) In RL after I click system audit the first game listed is: 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) In my Roms folder-->Sega Genesis-->first folder is labeled: 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) Inside the folder there are 6 files: 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [!].gen 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [b1].gen 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [b2].gen 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [b3].gen 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [h1c].gen 3 Ninjas Kick Back (USA) [h2c].gen I also added the "|gen" to the Global-->Emulators-->RetroArch When I click on the rocket icon to launch above game it brings up error screen saying can not find rom in the rom path provided with any of the rom extensions What's going on here? at a loss to fix this
doyoudesign Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 Hmmm...All of my rom sets are from same place so that's prob why none of them are working.
gigapig Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I'm not seeing what your screen shot shows. I see as menu headers: Main menu XML, ROms and media check, roms xml, Log viewer, Parameters. On the left says Systems. The name is HyperT00ls v1.4.0.0 Did I download the right thing? No you didn't, it might be good if app developers thought a little more about what they name their apps. The best link I can find is on my own Youtube guide which shows you how to create an xml if nothing is available. The link is in the description to the latest and last version.
gigapig Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 To add to what Jeremy has said, search for HyperSpin ready sets, the older console set are quite small so if you find the HS ready set you can junk what you already have and no need to rename anything.
nimpa Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Hypert00ls is for another use.... Use......... Dons rom renamer.... Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
doyoudesign Posted May 21, 2015 Author Posted May 21, 2015 THANK YOU!!!! again!!! Before I read the replies I found another set that was junk again...so I have 4-6 versions now of crap. This AM found what you were referring to and FINALLY!!! It works!!! Thanks so much for everyone's help. Who knew there were sets specifcally for Hyperspin...that would have made everything easy. If Hyperspin was no so bad ass I would not have devoted so much effort to this. LOL
