Bin/Cue Vs. ISO

I'm not sure if one allows subtrack data and one doesn't... but generally I don't think there's an advantage. For PS2, ISOs have the advantage of being able to be compressed into CSO files, allowing them to be compressed and still playable without decompression.

Curious as to what you guys use for PSX games. Any advantage to one over the other?

Thanks!

iso files don't support subchannel data and aren't clean 1:1 dumps of their respective games. bin/cue files have a distinct advantage in that audio tracks are in separate bins, and the data track is in its own bin, and subchannel data is included., they are also, when correctly dumped, such as the redump project, clean rips. emulators such as mednafen (and the retroarch mednafen core) REQUIRE bin/cue, and epsxe added support for the same format in their last release. so there is no reason to go with iso anymore. (mednafen is a far, far more accurate emulator than epsxe, i prefer it personally, but it doesnt have any bells and whistles, and won't pretty up your graphics).

To be clear, that applies to any CD based system. PS2 (DVDs) however, can be iso, in fact even you have other files with your iso's, you can delete them and only need the iso.
