tonycrew Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Ok having a nightmare with this just installed 2 new Ultra360's and IPac 2, all detected fine in windows, Using hyperlaunchhq all ipac button presses show correctly. Ipac Firmware is 1.30 , Windows 7 64 Bit, Radeon R9 270 GC, AMD 8320E CPU. Now in Xpadder i see 3 icons at the top IPAC - UltraStick 1 - Ultrastick 2 But when i Select IPac then create a new Layout no button presses appear on edit screen
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Ah i see i have changed them all to GamePad, which i can now assign buttons to keys, but do i need to add 2 controller profiles one for the ultra360 and one for ipac, so that i can use the joystick and buttons in hyperspin..?
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Ok i figured out how to use 1 profile for stick and buttons.
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Yeh i got them working in hyperspin, i then set up profile for epsxe but when i launch a game xpadder closes..?
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Ok made a hyperspin profile and a sony playstation, but xpadder doesn't switch profiles, i'm assuming i have a setting wrong somewhere in HLHQ because it's not selecting the profiles
Metalzoic Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Why are you using xpadder at all if you have U360's and an iPac2? Isn't xpadder just to simulate keyboard presses when using a joypad? An iPac already does this so I'm curious what xpadder is for. Did you assign each stick an ID before plugging in more than one stick? You have the stick running output to the iPac and plugged in USB?
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Yes they both have diff ID's The reason for using Xpadder is because i have some PC Games on my cab, also when trying to configure the buttons etc in epsxe for player 2 it doesn't see some of the buttons. Also trying to control hyperspin with a ultra360 isn't easy unless it's mapped as your arrow keys.
Metalzoic Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 Interesting. I have a ton of PC games on my cab, but don't even have xpadder installed, my CP runs through my iPac to send key presses. There must be something additional xpaader does that I don't know about. What does it do that your iPac isn't already doing? Maybe I can find a use for it... Also what's xpsxe? And I thought I had read that joystick/U360 control was fixed in 1.4 beta, but I might be mistaken.
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 epsxe is a playstation emulator, and im not running 1.4 beta, by default IPac is setup for MAME either way i'd either have to change all the emus to use same keys as mame, or use xpadder and set that to each emu, it's just that some emus don't seem to like my button presses when using IPAC in Keyboard Mode.
Metalzoic Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 OK, good to know as I'm updating to U360's soon. I was waiting until 1.4 leaves beta though since that should fix the Hyperspin/U360 input issues (if I'm remembering right)
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Yeh i've just upgraded to U360's and Changed Arcade Cabs and didn't want to upgrade to 1.4 Beta.... All was working fine in my other cab with Digital JoySticks... It's probably something simple, but where i'm at now is just using Xpadder for HS control, and using IPac Keyboard Mode for Emu, but when i launch a game Xpadder controls no longer work no matter what i set in HLHQ so i can't ESC back to HS, which is wiered as Winpac ESC button is working fine in tests..?
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 Yeh i'm using the default and changing the emus to match that, but the problem is when in epsxe the ESC doesn't work for some reason, i think i'll reset HLHQ and try again just using IPAC Default Config, and maybe try 1.4 Beta, also wondering if i should change to RockeLauncher as i'm on the Last Hyperlaunch BETA they brought out.
tonycrew Posted June 20, 2015 Author Posted June 20, 2015 I probably will, but didn't really want to do that as dont want to break everything
tonycrew Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 Yeh i got the transistion tool and the update so maybe when i get a little time i'll do it.
Imagamejunky Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 My 2 cents. I think you should start over and save yourself from future headaches. I recommend not using xpadder. Use winipac to program ipac and assign all of your CP buttons to normal keys if you can. (Like A to Z, the numbers and symbols). Avoid Esc and E. Start with the recommended default mame keys and change the odd ones in winipac (shift, control, etc). Set the mame keys to the appropriate buttons. Update HS to the most current beta. Use the most current RL. Update the firmware on the 360s one at a time with only one connected. Then plug them both in and leave them plugged in. Be prepared for possible frustrations with windows reassigning your 360 joyIDs. I removed my 360s and am glad I did. Ask lots of questions on this great forum. These are my opinions only. Take em or leave em. And good luck. tonycrew Posted June 22, 2015 Author Posted June 22, 2015 Ok sorted it now, What i did which i never knew it was so simple, each emu/system in HLHQ has to have at least a default profile, so i created a Hyperspin FE profile and then created all the other ones with just the same hyperspin controls, then in each emu i edited all the joystick/inputs manually and hey presto i can use it all correctly. But i have just ordered the button harness's for my 2 360's as a copuple of emu's like triforce and dolphin can't be edited to use the ipac and the 360's, so now the 8 play buttons will be connected directly to the 360's and xpadder will just run in background to exit emu's etc. On the plus side i've learnt a bit more today and all is now good.
Gerurver Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Hai, Imo reprogram the keys like jeremy is saying. I had the same problem with Some emu's! Ctrl, alt, shift are Some buggers die Some emu's. Its a little time to remap, but benefits with the end result. The pc games are sometimes hardcoded, the cant be remapping(i cant get iT right) i think in RL you can make good profiles per game with xpadder. Good luck
