first off, I'm new to Hyperspin and after two days of struggling I can understand how these sellers of precofigured systems make money lol.  I currently have mame set up correctly (at least I thought it was) but when I go to launch the emulator through rocketlauncher nothing happens and when i try to select mame in hyperspin i just crashexit.

After much frustration I decided to try to configure snes9x and see what happens, there I'm running into the error of none of my roms showing up even though I've added the proper file paths.

Any help would be much appreciated as I really want to get this thing working

Regards,

Cris

sorry to hear that Cris. not the first time I've read this happening. best advice at this point is to start fresh and learn the programs, and setup it up yourself; no other way around it. Once your past the learning curve, its a breeze.  Most people here are not a fan of people that sell hard drives. keep some of the files you need since you have them now, but start with a fresh install. there is lots of videos, helpful threads and people here, best of luck :D and welcome. most of the artwork you have can just be synced anyhow with a membership..... once it is setup properly.

I think you've misunderstood. I said that I can understand why people puchase preconfigured drives with the frustrations I'm having. I have been setting this up fresh on a new drive myself :-(

if you want help please post your Hyperspin and Rocketlauncher logs,

do us all a favor and post them here   --->  http://pastebin.com/

then provide a link to your logs

your post of it does not work and nothing happens is not very helpful on determining your problem.

If I was not lazy I would post a link to all the forum posts of people who have come here for  help after buying a drive.

oh sorry gotcha. most people selling those drive's are misleading people anyhow. even buying one, then having to figure out when something goes wrong, upgrade or fixing something, and BAM. your lost :) anyhow welcome and like I said good luck. most of the answers you need are on the forums or in video's.

I will paste the logs and report back shortly.

In regards to your laziness, not to worry ;-) as I already explained to the poster above, I have not purchased a drive.  I'm here looking for help as a new user who is doing a fresh install on a clean drive.

thanks for the tip.  Ive decided to start the entire process over because my file structure started to get messed up because of a bad unzip.  Hopefully I'll have less problems this time.  I'll be back to let you know my outcome shortly.  Cheers

so I've done the fresh install and began with setting up retroarch and mame and I'm still encountering the issue of rot finding any existing roms even though everything points to the right path as far as i can see.  I'm using hyperspin 1.4 coupled with the most current rocket launcher and have set everything up according to "Simply Austins" youtube vids that i found linked in his sig through reading here.  At this point I know its something stupid that I'm just overlooking, any input is much appriciated.

Heres the log from when I try to launch a game through mame in RL http://pastebin.com/m9p8UA2T

the rest of the systems i set up to run with retroarch and am seeing no roms in the folder when i scan for them

nobody??? i started over from scratch and now am still having the same issue.  roms for mame show up in the launcher and can be played (wont launch from hyperspin however), however the roms ive pointed to snes9x and nestopia and atari 2600 are all showing nothing in their games tab.  ive tried leaving them zipped, unzipping them, changing the 7z setting in global, putting them in different folders, still nothing.  I used a renaming tool to no avail and generated an xml with no change either... I've done more reading and googeling in one day than any man should, I'm really starting to lose hope here :( any advise you guys could offer would be most appriciated.  Thanks in advance0

edit: i switched from retroarch mentioned above to individual emulators for each game type
