jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Here's my problem I had my system setup good and im not sure what happened but basically i cant get my gba to run. I get the error that I dont have a default emulator in HQ. But when I load it up there are no default emulators listed for the gba. So I have been googling until it hurts. Can someone please explain how you ad default emulators to the list when there are none to start with. I did notice that when I click the global button the emulator I have used in the past is there but doesnt show up with the magnifying glass under default? Very confused Thanks in Advance
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Have you named the game boy advanced system EXACTLY how it like it??
jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 yeah its the No$GBA. And I just went through and re-added it exactly and still nothing shows up in the default emulator list
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I Mean the system itself mate, not the emulator. Sorry I aint got Hyperspin running so I cant see myself. But is GBA a default system? If not, when you added it, did you check the spelling and Capitalization was EXACTLY how it is in the Hyperlaunch/Rocketlauncher setup? If its not, the module may not see your system so it will not have a default emu
jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 I just checked and double checked and I even downloaded VisualBoyAdvance-M and still wont come up in the default list I dont know what im doing wrong with this
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 It does not matter what emulators you install. The list should still be full with its possibilities. Is GBA a default system or did you have to add it?
jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 when you click on the left global button and then click the emulator tab it list all the emulators for every system its there. But when i go to the left again scroll down to gameboy advance and then on the right it shows rom paths then default emulator. I can select the rom path but below that is the default emulator i click it and there is nothing in the list its blank you cant pick a path to add one there. Now at the bottom where you can add a new emulator this is where I type in the name, rom path, module and so on. But when I add it exactly like in the global settings I am assuming that at that point is where it should show up in the default emu list but it doesnt So maybe im avoiding the stupid question if there are no default emulators in the list how do you add them?
32assassin Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 the error you see is usually caused because you did not name your system to the official name look at your Nintendo Gameboy Advance system in Rocketlauncher does it have an icon next ot it? if no then rename your system to its official name, the global emulator will show up. look over this post on how to rename your systems without removing them http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/8662-noob-hyperlaunchhq-to-mess-error-arcadia-2001/?hl=arcadia
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 no no no.... I am asking if its a default system and not a default emulator. Does you GBA tab on the left hand side (Under where it says global) have the GBA in the list? Is it written EXACTLY the same as, same spelling, same caps etc..... Nintendo Game Boy Advance Also, does it have a little logo next to the name like the others?
jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Actually it says "Gameboy Advance" and there is no icon next to it
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 then thats the problem. Hyperlaunch or RL does not know what that system is as its not named correctly for some reason. When you add a system it needs to be named EXACLTY how it wants it. to change it take a look at the thread Assassin provided. In future you need to check the names.... Take a look at this vid from 4:40. Its for a dif system but the way its done is exactly the same as the way you should check and input the names for all non default systems
jfprice30 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Problem Solved. your awesome thanks for the video
ghutch92 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 For future reference, the names of systems are in the rocketlauncherui media folder and in the modules themselves. Instead of renaming a system to match conventions or if you wanted to make a custom system like "Sega Classics" you would need to open rocketlauncherUI then open the rocketlauncherui tab and uncheck "show valid emulators/modules only."
