J_Lee87 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I'm in the process of converting to RetroArch for emulation I've got it up and running but can't get my shaders to function properly, I was watching someone do a set up vid and he said you can make you shaders switch to a default (that you specified) when ever you run a different system. I can't get this to work every time I start a different system it just runs the shader I had running last. I'm using RetroArch version 1.2 any help would be great.
bclout Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I remember solving this problem by having a separate config file for each system. Go to the config folder in the retro arch directory. Copy a config file and rename it to exactly match the system name, for example: Nintendo Entertainment System.cfg Capitals are important, the file name has to match exactly. After that you can change anything, it will only change for that system. Fyi, i do not use v1.2, i am still on one of the nightly builds. So i hope it works for you.
pofo14 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Bclout is correct. Another way to accomplish this through the UI is first to ensure that configuration per core is set to true (Settings-->Configuration Setting). Next load the core you want to use/configure (i.e Nestopia). Then configure whatever overlays/shaders you want and select "Save New Config", it will create a config with the appropriate name for that core, in the appropriate directory.
cure_remedy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Im having issues with retroarch using rocketlauncherUI. Any1 to help me? I cant get it to load the roms, if though its pointing to the right directory. I cant get NES working for nothing, it doesn't recognize the system name NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM.

(true or false, dont remember which one).
Fursphere Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Most of the cores in retroarch (maybe all of them?) only support ZIP. Not 7z. You can use WinRAR to mass convert your sets. I had this problem. Also, most of the launching problems I had with retroarch traced back to rocket launcher. Stop using that thing and have hyperspin call retroarch.exe directly with the appropriate core in the parameters section. Solved all of the issues I was having.
pofo14 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 RetroArch can handle 7z now, at least it does for me. Can you post a log/error and review some of the settings you have. It will be easier to help you out with that information.
