SSF config

I'm putting a HyperSpin build into an arcade cabinet (and using an ipac) so naturally I have to make all the emulators use the same button config. The easiest thing to do thus far is reconfig everything match MAME (which includes some ALT, CNTL, and SPACE buttons). That approach is working just fine so far but when attempting to recofig controllers in the SSF Saturn emulator the program is unresponsive to alt, cntl, and spacebar entries. Is there a way around this or am I doing it wrong?

You could possibly have it load different iPac profiles for different systems if you needed to. I'm not positive on that though since I don't do that.

Personally I just changed my button layout away from a standard MAME layout to keep it working with my systems. You may just need to experiment with different button combos or try learning and messing with different keymapper/AHK hotkey fixes to see if you can get it where you want it.

I have no idea how i change the ipac keys, ive left it as it came. Was hoping there was someone else who has had this problem with the ipac and worked it out lol Thank you for your reply

I don't understand what you mean "left it as it came". Did you build this control panel? You can easily re-program the iPac to make the buttons be anything you want using the Winpac program you had to install to set it up the first time. If you didn't set it up then simply find that program in your program list and open it. It's pretty easy to figure out, but I believe there are also instructions at ultimarc.com where it came from.

Also somebody just put up an AHK script to help with button re-mapping here:

http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/10513-x-arcade-tankstick-to-hs-multiemu-key-remapping-script/

It's for the Tankstick, but he mentions it should work worth other control panels like ours. Unfortunately there's no easy fix for most things Hyperspin, Sometimes you just need to put in the time learning, hours of reading and fiddling to get things working as you want. Good luck.

Can't you do an ahk remap within RocketlauncherUI?

He probably could which is why I mentioned it. But doing that requires him to learn how to do that.

Here's the link to the RocketLauncher wiki TC. This page has a few links that explain the very basics of keymapping and has links to other tutorials/info you'll need to learn to get it making sense and working.

Ah you're right. I forgot that right out of the box it already matches to MAME and doesn't need initial programming.

Well if you use the Winipac program it's really easy, instructions should also be in the folder for it if I remember right.

Also here's the link from my previous link with info on the things you can do from within RocketLauncher to remap buttons/keys

Ah I didn't mean it in a jerk manner like "I already told him that", I just meant that I agreed with you and we were thinking the same thing. Ha!
