I have had some issues with this too since day one.  I was going to ask how to set up the gamepad from scratch. Right now I use it via Xpadder. but it is very finicky. Sometimes it stops working or does not do what it was set for.  Same with emulators, I have it set and sometimes stops.  Is there a proper way to setup the game pad? I have mine set up in RL and use xpadder profiles.

I have nothing but issues with HyperHQ and joystick settings.. for some reason it does not see all the keys on the pad. If I go keyboard via xpadder it works better?

I have the Xbox controllers working great in Hyperspin. You need to make sure you are using the latest version (1.4) and that the Xbox controller is your preferred controller in Windows.

I try to avoid Xpadder unless it's absolutely necessary. It is more trouble than it's worth a lot of the time.

I used this video to set up Hyperspin 1.3

The Xbox Part is 24 Mins in Roughtly

Followed to the Letter still not working

Then installed 1.4 on top.

My Hyperspin is on  drive F:\

Hyper HQ Did get some crashing Problem so I ran in  Windows XP compatibility mode

Im struggling using a 360 wired controller as well....the problems I have though is speed.

I use the analogue to select my wheel, but its extremely slow when I push up/down, if I hold in the analogue to select a wheel further up the wheel goes into a frantic full speed spin where it doesn't stop and I need to ctrl-alt-del  out the system?

edit: changed speed to med.....still uncontrollable spin when I hold up/down

Controller support got added to HyperSpin 1.4 which was great. However, my understanding (and own experience) is that is running hyperspin in a high resolution, like 1080p you still get problems. So, I still stick to using a keymapper (joytokey in my case) to map my controller to hyperspin key controls so that I can still run in a high resolution.

If any of you guys are having problems, maybe try lowering resolution so you can use inbuilt control options?

Or, keep high resolution and use a keymapper OR the startup script to run controls? Make sure you disable hyperspin controller settings if you do this though, otherwise it will conflict with your keymapper or startup script - you don't want two separate applications trying to interpret your inputs at same time.

Not saying what I am doing is *right* - just saying what I am doing works for me, so maybe will work for others. Thanks :)

I agree with Dunk 100%. I keep hearing how controls were fixed in 1.4 but I have zero reasons for finding out. JoyToKey just works! Very easy to set up, integrates well with RocketLauncher, no need for any startup scripts... I assume xpadder would be very similar but I have never used it. Have a look at my tutorial to see how to configure JTK.

Hi,

I'm trying HyperSpin Startup Script 1.08, all i have done is place that in the hyperspin folder, run it once, checked the ini file was created, added startup in hyperhq and then ran hyperspin. Scrolling up or down is very intermittent, tried changing the delay but stillhit and miss... Not sure which way to go, really would like it running at least before i spend $50 on platinum donation.

Cheers,
