Power supply for Marquee and cooling fans:

Harvested an old power supply from a desktop I had laying around.  In order to have the power on all the time you have to connect the green wire on the mobo harness to any black wire.

This of course will be turned on by the smart strip.

Also i noticed roll on paint.. Jus yer typical indoor house paint? My first bartop I did spray.. Didn't like results too much

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Its Alkyd paint, semi gloss.  Meant typically for casings doors and baseboards.  Filled all holes and seams with wood filler (bigger holes with Bondo), sanded down with 80 grit (holee dust), primed with oil based primer (killz brand), then re-filled all holes and re sanded with 220 grit prior to rolling 2-3 coats of paint with the foam roller.  Gives a pretty good finish.  Now 90% of the front and sides will be covered by vinyl so its not all that important but the visible pieces I painted with spray cans (the "reveal" at the bottom and the side pieces by the screen.), as its difficult to get a nice smooth finish in the corners with a brush.

You can get fantastic results with a spray can but I would never, ever recommend a full size cab to spray.  Even a bartop is a lot of work.

Looks beautiful bro, can't wait to pimp this baby out with some art for ya

I got the feeling my artwork is in really good hands here.

Couple updates, was getting some stuttering in MAME HLSL, bought a new graphics card that *should* be good for most emulation with the i5-650.  Do you think overclocking the processor would help out with the Mame issues?  Also having a hard time running atomiswave/naomi on demul (really poor choppy sound).  Is that a processor or graphics thing?

GPU is the EVGA GTX950

i5 650

8gb ddr3 ram

win 7 64

Some pics of the cab, my temporary control panel (not even sure if I'm going to wire this up or just wait for my man above to get the template out to me to start on the new one.  Side vinyl looks great, will have custom art on the cp and kick panel.

Some pics of the monitor mounting.  Basically just sits on the wood brace at the bottom and against the battens at the back.  Plexi bezel rests against it on the top.  Not secured in any fashion and I really don't see a need to.  If I'm going to haul it up the stairs I'll just remove the bezel and the monitor.

And come construction paper behind the tinted plexi to black out everything that isn't the screen.

And a damn perfect fit to, looks great!

Yeah, happy how the admin panel turned out considering I had it drilled out already and coudn't do an exact fit with a template.  Control panel should be perfect.

Blew the power supply on my PC today.  Ordered this guy:

EVGA 500W 80+.  Have no idea but should be better than the stock 320W PS.

Buttons wired up.  Waiting on RGB harnesses.  Player 2 joystick - long story short - my son wrecked it, partly my fault.  I had the cp on its side and my curious 3 year old knocked it over and when it fell the joy broke the plastic housing.  Ah well.  'Nother one on the way.
