Goodboyparker Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I am finishing up a build, and some of the last few details are the bezel and underside of the marquee. I am wondering if anyone has had success with a "cardboard" bezel - by cardboard I mean something like a framing matte or a stiffer/shiny piece of cardboard. Thanks - Mike
Frank Drebin Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Thats a nice looking cab. Why not use plexi and paint the underside around everywhere that is not the screen? Cardboard would look cheap. Judging by depth - LCD?
madhatter3339 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I make a wooden frame around the monitor then put black cardboard over that and then cover it with tempered glass
damageinc86 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I think the tape off actual screen area, and paint the bezel onto the backside of plexi is a pretty good way to go.

Goodboyparker Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Thanks for the replies - I do like the glossy look of the plexi. I have not worked with it before, so I will have to do some research. I don't have any of the computer components but they are being donated. I also had to fit the machine through a 29" door, so the maximum width is 28.5".

One difference is that your machine does not need much covering - the monitor fills most of the space. My machine has a lot of open space to fill in (future expansion?) I have clamp envy from your pictures. Do you join the edges with biscuits? I don't see any dados cut in the sides. Thanks - Mike
madhatter3339 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Yeah I use a lot of biscuits I don't have a single screw on the frame at all!! Makes it sturdy as hell in my opinion!! Can hardly wait to see pics of what you decide to do so keep em coming!!
