thejasonparker Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 So after searching through loads of forums, reading countless tutorials, watching hours of youtube videos and then finally contacting some really helpful people I've finally come to the conclusion that the Ultramarc U360 joysticks (and possibly other joysticks) will not work in the Hyperspin front end to control the wheels connecting via usb in input mode. I did believe that the latest version of Hyperspin supported joysticks, and therefore the U360's, as this was a feature listed in the new updates but maybe I've just not understood this correctly. Anyway just so people know I have each Ultrastik 360 setup in input mode with 8 buttons connected with the latest firmware installed. They are recognised by windows and the Ultramap software and I can apply configs to them such as 4 way, 8 way and see the movement in the windows device calibration window as well as button presses. In HyperHQ I can activate each stick and get the notification that it's been recognised. I can also go through and set each movement and HyperHQ recognises all joystick movements and button presses of the U360. However, when I then launch Hyperspin it's only the buttons that are recognised. The joystick movements are not being picked up so you cannot move the wheel? This is really disappointing as I now have to use a 3rd party solution such as joy2key or xpadder to get this working. I suppose I have written this post to... a.) try and help other people not waste the same amount of time I have b.) confirm the situation with Hyperspin 1.4 beta 15 and joysticks If there's anyone else out there that has had the same problems as me and found a solution or can just confirm what I believe is true please add to this post as a record to help others. Thanks to everyone that has helped me in some way either from their previous posts, youtube videos or emails.
Metalzoic Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Bumping this because I was planning on re-building my CP with U360's. You're saying they aren't compatible with Hyperspin at all?
middric Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Can confirm this. I have xpadder configured to map the u360 to the cursor keys for hyperspin in order to get this to work.

Are either of you not using an iPac with it? From reading the instructions it seems to say that you can have it plugged in USB for analog/mouse support at the same time it's wired into an iPac to emulate keyboard. So in that case you wouldn't need to use Xpadder at all, just set your directional to arrow keys in the Winipac software like normal. Or have you guys found it isn't working that way? Other than that how do you like them?
