Drkdweller Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 It's at the *ahem* usual place already. Not worth it imo if you are running mame. AT $10. its worth supporting software devs. even if other places have it. Like buying a sub here or LOL skins ect. its more for support.
dark13 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Hmm... well, honestly I don't know if it is worth supporting this kind of product. I mean... we have great old games and we have emulators to run them all, move on and create something new instead of milking a zombie cow. Hours "lost" in a conversion of something already "unofficially" working can be used to create some wonderful new stuff and copyright/drm will become even longer and stricter if software houses will notice they can do money using stuff that should be already public doman (let's tell the truth: 10 years in computing/gaming is like 100 years for movies/books) . Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
Omnibus Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I've had this for a while now on my Android phone, and love it. The vertical nature of the series makes it perfect for phones. I was happy to see it for the PC, so I got it, and was pretty disappointed there is no vertical option, or TATE as they say. This is just lazy IMO. Dotemu seems to just package up games in an emulator wrapper, and sell them. Clear evidence of this is the fact that Raiden 2 is not included in Raiden Legacy, and we all know MAME still doesn't emulate Raiden 2. There is a thread going on about this for anyone interested HERE. I have Metal Slug 3 and R-Type from Dotemu, and they are lazy ports as well. Dotemu needs to put in more effort with their ports IMO.
