Retroarch - hide mess nag screen?

Took me most of yesterday to get Retroarch and the mess core to play nicely with Atari 5200 and others but I finally got it all working with the help of information found in this thread:  http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/6751-mess-bios-retro-arch-problem/

However, since this is an old thread, it references and older version of RA.  I've looked through all of the general and core-specific settings but can't find the place where you can disable the Mess nag screen as shown by Baddie here:

Was this functionality removed from the newer versions of RA or mess core?  Or am I just blind?  :)

FYI...I also know that RA is not the preferred emulator for some of the console platforms but I really want to see if I can get down to a single emulator for most things I care about.

TIA!

The no-nag core option broke at some point and hasn't been added back yet. If you know how to compile cores, you could probably do the same source modification that the stand alone MAME/MESS no-nag patch does to the core's source. I'm not quite that savvy myself, so I'm still using an old build of the MAME core that has the no-nag option. I don't have the old MESS core though.

Humm....interesting. I have to look and see if I have the old core. I haven't updated retroarch in a long time. Not sure if I should! If I do I'll post it.

Any idea on how to hide the yellow text and it detects your controller? I hate having that text pop up every time the emulator starts.

You go under Settings, On Screen Display and turn off Display OSD Message, be aware that none message will be displayed, if you use save states or other features that uses OSD messages they won't show up. Though I use it turned off and I don't miss that.

That did the trick!  Thanks!

Scratch that...I loaded an Atari 2600 rom by mistake.  I am still seeing the nag screen from systems that use Mess in RA.

John sorry I forgot quoting Styphelus, this option is to hide the yellow text, sorry if I somehow hijacked your thread...
