Konamito Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I have a big problem now... When I start HyperSpin I just get a totally black blank screen after the intro video and nothing happens... Looks like HyperSpin loads but doesn't show anythin on screen. I only thing I can do is using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to stop the Hyperspin.exe process. I can normally run games from RocketLauncher withou any problem. I didn't get too much info from the log file: 05:33:55 PM | HyperSpin Started 05:33:55 PM | Going FullScreen 05:33:55 PM | Checking for updates 05:33:55 PM | Update Check Complete 05:33:55 PM | Startup program unavailable 05:33:55 PM | Error intializing joysticks 05:33:55 PM | Menu Mode is multi 05:33:55 PM | Loading Main Menu.xml 05:33:55 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded And here's my Main Menu.xml file: <menu> <game name="American Laser Games" /> <game name="PC Games" /> <game name="Dice" /> <game name="Future Pinball" /> <game name="Pinball Arcade" /> <game name="MAME" /> <game name="Amstrad CPC" /> <game name="Amstrad GX4000" /> <game name="Atari 2600" /> <game name="Atari 5200" /> <game name="Atari 7800" /> <game name="Atari Lynx" /> <game name="Atari Jaguar" /> <game name="Bally Astrocade" /> <game name="Bandai WonderSwan" /> <game name="Bandai WonderSwan Color" /> <game name="Bandai Super Vision 8000" /> <game name="Casio PV-1000" /> <game name="ColecoVision" /> <game name="Commodore 64" /> <game name="Commodore Amiga" /> <game name="Commodore Amiga CD32" /> <game name="Commodore CDTV" /> <game name="Creatronic Mega Duck" /> <game name="Fairchild Channel F" /> <game name="GCE Vectrex" /> <game name="Magnavox Odyssey 2" /> <game name="Mattel Intellivision" /> <game name="Mattel Aquarius" /> <game name="Microsoft MSX" /> <game name="Microsoft MSX2" /> <game name="Microsoft MSX2+" /> <game name="Nintendo Entertainment System" /> <game name="Nintendo Famicom" /> <game name="Nintendo Famicom Disk System" /> <game name="Super Nintendo Entertainment System" /> <game name="Nintendo 64" /> <game name="Nintendo Game Boy" /> <game name="Nintendo Game Boy Color" /> <game name="Nintendo Game Boy Advance" /> <game name="Nintendo Virtual Boy" /> <game name="Nintendo Satellaview" /> <game name="Sega Master System" /> <game name="Sega Genesis" /> <game name="Sega CD" /> <game name="Sega 32X" /> <game name="Sega Saturn" /> <game name="Sega SG-1000" /> <game name="Sega Dreamcast" /> <game name="Sega Game Gear" /> <game name="Sega Model 2" /> <game name="Sega Model 3" /> <game name="NEC TurboGrafx-16" /> <game name="NEC TurboGrafx-CD" /> <game name="NEC PC Engine" /> <game name="NEC PC Engine-CD" /> <game name="Sharp X1" /> <game name="Sharp X68000" /> <game name="Sinclair ZX Spectrum" /> <game name="SNK Neo Geo CD" /> <game name="SNK Neo Geo" /> <game name="SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color" /> <game name="Panasonic 3DO" /> <game name="Sony PlayStation" /> <game name="Sony PSP" /> <game name="Watara Supervision" /> <game name="Philips CD-i" /> </menu> Could you help me please to solve this BIG problem? Konamito Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 If I choose Menu Mode --> single, HS loads the MAME System fine. So the error must be in certain system...I'll keep looking manually, but maybe you know a better way to proceed... MSXBlog Tenerife Go Retro
Konamito Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I just added Commodore VIC-20 system to HSHQ. But I deleted it after and the problem is still there. MSXBlog Tenerife Go Retro
Konamito Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I've been making some tests and HyperSpin doesn't work when Mode > Multi under General tab is selected in HyperSpinHQ. But it works when I select Mode > Single. In this case, HyperSpin starts and I the wheel shows up no matter which system I choose in HyperSpinHQ (Commodore AMIGA, MAME, Microsoft MSX, etc.). gigapig Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 The next step for the log should be. 04:41:47 PM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully. So after the Main menu check it's looking for the Main Menu wheel. Is this a bad piece of Main Menu artwork? You could also try removing from the Setting.ini the last system, in case it's hung up on that. Example [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=MAME Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System=MAME Hyperlaunch_Path=O:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe

I did what you suggested and I get the same error. Also, I tried systems in Single mode enabling one by one in HyperHQ and all the wheels loaded fine except one system. So I deleted that system from my Main Menu.xml file. Then I changed into Mode > Multi and occurs the same thing: black screen and no message at all. I've checked the png files for systems wheel in Main Menu/Images/Wheels and their names are exact the same as the names written in the xml file in Databases/Main Menu/Main Menu.xml. Konamito Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Error found!!! Checking the Systems wheelart I couldn't see MAME.png in Windows Explorer (it was not able to open it) so I just made a new one and probelm solved... So I know that everytime I get this error I have to check the media files first. Thanks to all for your help here. MSXBlog Tenerife Go Retro
