gooch Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 MUGEN has a 4:3 aspect ratio and when played on by my 16:9 widescreen the image appears stretched. I was wondering if there was a way to lock the correct aspect ratio - In other words, I want the black bars that MAME uses.
gooch Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 I forgot to mention that I'd also like to have the black bars for Daphne as well.
Deadly Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Optional: Changing window size A new feature in M.U.G.E.N. 1.0 is the ability to stretch the screen to fit high-definition monitors. Some of you may still have old-school CRT monitors and the screen will likely stretch out of the screen. To fix this, look for the mugen.cfg file, located in mugen\data. Open it in Notepad and look for the following block of text: ;Game native width and height. ;Recommended settings are: ; 640x480 Standard definition 4:3 ; 1280x720 High definition 16:9 ; 1920x1080 Full HD 16:9 GameWidth = 800 GameHeight = 600 Simply change GameWidth and GameHeight to a screen size you are comfortable with.
gooch Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Thank you. I tried changing it to 1280x720 but it had no effect - still no black bars. I will have to keep trying. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm using hardware DirectX to make it full screen. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
ecb116 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Try to change it to GameWidth = 800 GameHeight = 600 or even GameWidth = 640 GameHeight = 480
gooch Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I have tried both of those unsuccessfully as well.
zerojay Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 You may want to look into MUGEN 1.1 beta 1's options: http://www.elecbyte.com/mugendocs-11b1/history.html
clintc Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 on Daphne go to hyperspin/hyperlaunch/modules/daphne and open the config setting and edit the "globalparams" line to -fullscreen_window instead of -fullscreen and change to -x 640 -y 480 then you will get the black bars with the 4:3 ratio video inside
