WII NBA JAM

Was looking for a newer basketball game to put on my cab and stumbled across NBA Jam on fire edition (which didnt come out on PC or wii) but the wii had a revived version of nba jam which would be awesome on a cab.

I havnt tried emulating wii yet. Is it possible with a 4ghz quadcore and a gtx 650 ti card? (I have a gtx 770 I could use if I had to)

Would controls be able to be mapped to arcade controls or would a wii-mote be needed?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Your cpu is what really matters for dolphin (tho dedicated graphics does help). is it an Intel chip? If so, nba jam for wii should run great. Dolphin doesn't care much for amd chips tho.

I can tell you that wii games run on a i3 (slow but playable) and more enjoyable if you set the FrameSkip (as well as probably setting the priority to HIGH) a fast CPU definitely helps. you should be fine with your specs.... I can't remember which controls the NBA JAM uses... but I hated the way wii controls are emulated especially for the games that had the wiiMote + nunchuck combo....

I've found you can tweak dolphin to run pretty well on even the most paltry hardware (Intel chips specifically). I have a pentium 2 core overclocked to 3.5 ghz. Running full screen at native resolution, dolphin only shows very occasional lag. Even the most graphically intensive games are completely playable.

From what I understand, dolphin only takes advantage of two cores. So your third and fourth cores won't help or hurt performance. It's clock speed that's the most important consideration.

Also, if you plan to integrate more wii games, I highly recommend investing in a dolphinbar. One of the best purchases I've made in a while.

frame skipping helps a lot

well I just played it... actually thanks to this post for making me finally configure the WiiNunchuck in Dolphin.. I never configured it before because I thought it was going to be a pain in the ass but it's simple as just setting it to your stick or d-pad...tho i'm not sure how that will work for games that actually use the d-pad and nunchuck stick

game ran and was playable... i just changed the frameskip again so Im gonna see if the speed is even better.

the messed up thing with dolphin is you can't frameksip from the command line so you have to manually do it each time which sucks.

The NBA 2K on Sony PSP is the basketball game I play and the emulation is great! I have a wii so emulating the wii is more about being able to run the games more than actually play them.
