Styphelus
So this weekend my old AMD 6870 video card died. Now I need help deciding on what I should get: Option 1: GeForce GTX 960 Option 2: Geforce GTX 950, 8Gb ram, Coolmaster Hyper 212 EVE CPU Fan This is the thing, The price of option 2 is only $20.00 more than Option 1 as 2 of those components are on sale this week. Currently I have 8GB ram and still using the stock cpu fan on my old i5 2500K. I figured I could overclock it a bit. Will the added ram and overclocked processor help more than having a slightly better video card? Looking to play Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 on this (as well as all my hyperspin systems)

dougan78
I use 4 gigs of ram on an 3rd gen i5 quad-core. Video cards will help for some stuff but cpu is still main priority. So I think either video card is fine personally without doing a bunch of research More is better too imho its 20 bucks..
Yeuxkes
8gigs of RAM is more than plenty if you don't do any special image editing, like photoshop or video editing. It also helps to close Chrome when not using it lol... A lower model graphics card and an aftermarket heatsink will help you more than the additional 8Gb ram. I'm using a closed water cooling system on my 2nd gen i7and can easily achieve +1Ghz overclock. My stock speeds is 3.5Ghz and I can sustain 4.7Ghz, for longevity reason I keep it at a reasonable 4.3Ghz
