Using Gigapigs Mameuifx build from the hyperspin 43 systems build here.

Icannot get the command list to show up in the tab menu.

Any thoughts?

edit: Title should say MAME moves list not high scores.

Lol, that's what the command DAT is for, something new everyday.

Have you tried it in the root and the days folder?

I have the command.dat in a dats folder inside the mame root folder, as well as by itself in the mame root folder.

I don't follow what you mean with the first comment.

I just had no clue or never bothered checking what the command dat did. I've only ever been interested in the History and Hiscore dat.

I may be wrong but I thought that the command.dat with uifx was only for use in the uifx gui itself, not mame. There's a tree for command in the left pane and it will list the games that have info in the dat. With a game selected select the Info tab in the right pane that has all of the extras in it and it will display the info from the command.dat.

So you're saying it's only visible in the gui and not in game like it is supposedly in Mameplus.

Giga, from what I understand, command.dat had all of the moves for the games, ie street fighter. Press tab, navigate to move list and it shows you how to do a hadoken, etc. Hyperpause has this feature but I'm not a fan of hyperpause, much prefer the tab menu.

I'm using it in RocketLauncher PAUSE - comes up fine there (located in rocketlauncher/data/moves list/mame.dat.)  No luck with the tab menu in mame.  Have not tried with mameuifx64 yet.

Does anyone know where to get an updated version of command.dat?  (mame.dat in RL parlance for moves list)  The file that comes with RL says it was last updated in Feb 2007 (per header in the file.)  Searching the net I found what claimed to be a merged command.dat from 2013 that was supposed to include info from non-fighting games, but it does not have any of the non-fighting game info that the file included with RL has.

Thank you.

The more I get into RL, the more I appreciate it and grow to like it.  It is kind of intimidating at first, but I'm peeling away the layers and learning the structure.  Not sure why you don't care for RL PAUSE, but I know I was frustrated at first but now really appreciate it.

command.dat (mame.dat) moves list I just discovered and hope to find a newer database especially for non-fighting games.  It helps show newbies of my cabinet how to play, which gets more people to try things out.

Hyperpause just seems really slow to use, especially on trying to exit, perhaps because I never played around to much with mapping an exit key. Maybe pause and exit can be mapped to the same button?

Thanks to all who have replied. Bummer that it can't be used in the tab menu.
