Rotgut Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 My understanding is, the original code for Monaco GP was done through some type of chipset back in the day — so it was not capable of emulation in MAME — but now that it has been re-programmed/re-created by the genius known as "gee cab" (as brought up over in this thread and referenced on this site), why can't it finally be ported to run in MAME? I played it (the gee cab PC version) and it's really very cool! Be nice to have this in MAME. Is there even a chance?
RPO R6V Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I'm a relatively old guy here (48) so I know I'm probably one of the few members who cares about games as old as (or older than) Monaco GP. It's an awesome game that ate a lot of my quarters back in the day. I just don't know enough about MAME to know the answer to your question. I never thought I'd see discrete games like Pong and Stunt Cycle emulated, but then DICE came along. Now Pong apparently runs in MAME, though I'm not sure how or if it differs from running it in DICE.
Metalzoic Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 No idea. I didn't even know it didn't run in MAME until I saw the other topic about it. However since that guys version is a re-creation it doesn't seem like it should be included. It isn't the real thing. Does it just run like a PC game from an .exe? If so you should just be able to add it into your MAME wheel.

I think it involves multiple files to run? I'd have to look again.
Rotgut Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 It's a pc game so it requires multiple files to run but you just have to call the exe and use the -cfg flag to specify the name of the config file to use. I have no clue what you just said. heehee

Do you mean as a batch file? For example something like: monacoGP.exe -cfg -no monkeys -extra midgets -track6
Marcoqwerty Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Monaco need some input command to run, specially the version of the theme ( geecab ) (select what mode run and screen size.... ) , but i does directly from ROCKETLAUNCHER in the GLOBAL MODULE options. No needs any batch or launcher! https://supercoin.blogspot.com/
