Default theme editing for vertical videos/pngs

Hi all,

 

Is there a way of editing the default theme xmls to display vertical videos without stretching them?

 

I am currently using the Arcade Classics default theme set from the download section (Atari, Capcom etc) but they are all stretching vertical videos/images.

I'm guessing you use a widescreen monitor?

You could just open them in Hypertheme change the video & frame to just 75% of it's normal width. Then when it stretches to fit your widescreen they should actually stretch to the correct aspect.

You'd do that by going to the video & frame layers and changing "Force Aspect" to "Both" and then doing some quick math on the X, Y pixel dimensions.

However if a particular theme uses custom artwork for the video frame I don't think you can alter that. In those cases you may need to delete the video-frame artwork and just use the built in auto-framing tool to replace it.

Other than that it should work fine.
