trab123 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hi im having a little trouble getting NullDC to launch via rocket launcher or hyperspin. When in hyperspin and i select one of my games hyperspin looses focus, i have to alt-tab back into hyperspin and if i try and launch one manually through rocket launcher it just acts as if i didnt ask it to load anything. No errors or anything. Now if i run NullDC by itself it works perfectly. Any idea's? Thanks
Spawk Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hi Trab, it's good you have it working in NullDC first. Next step is getting them to audit and play in RL. No sense in trying in HS till you get it resolved in RL first. Do they audit green? Also, RL always displays an error message unless it thinks it loaded right. Is the path to NullDC correct?
gigapig Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 And check that Rocketlauncher isn't already running in your system tray.
trab123 Posted February 9, 2016 Author Posted February 9, 2016 Ok i made sure RL wasnt already running so thats good. I did audit the games and they are not showing up green just red. I triple checked that the paths are correct and they seem to be perfect. I tried changing the names on the games to make sure they matched what was in the XML file for the dreamcast and they do.
gigapig Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Perhaps post both your HyperSpin and RocketLauncher logs.
trab123 Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Ok i will try and get those up. I did make a little progress and got rocket launcher to finally start green lighting my games at least. When i try and launch one through it i do get a really fast hour glass loading symbol on the mouse and nothing happens.

trab123 Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 The emulator is still open. You'll need to kill it in task manager, then try again. Yes you were right there were three of them running. I closed all of them and tried to launch a game through RL and it gave me a error that it could not find emulator application, then it gives me the path to my nulldc.exe file and it looks to be correct. C:\Users\Candy arcade\Desktop\hyperspin133\Emulators\nulldc\nullDC_Win32_Release-NoTrace
trab123 Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Ok guys i got a little breakthrough, i changed the filename of the nulldc.exe from nullDC_Win32_Release-NoTrace to just plain nulldc. This made it start working in RL for whatever reason. So i go into hyperspin and when i try and launch a game i can hear the dreamcast booting sound but the screen never leaves the hyperspin menu. If i alt/tab it does not show nulldc in my applications that are running but i do see it running in the processes of the computer. Any ideas? Thanks
trab123 Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Ok a hair more progress. After restarting the PC i started getting some errors when trying to launch the games from hyperspin. The first error that pops up says {Cannot find sega dreamcast.ahk} You do not have a hyperlaunch 2 module for sega dreamcast, create one. The second error i get is from hyperlaunch and it says failed attempt to launch program or document, line#2049 Run, %keymapperexe% /C,%keymapperpath% Any ideas where to start on fixing these? Thanks
trab123 Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 Ok i did everything you listed above and updated to the newest hyperspin. I am now getting an error when i try to launch a game through hyperspin that tells me "no default_emulator found in (gives me the path to rocketlauncher/settings/sega dreamcast/emulators.ini) please set one. Im kinda confused on what is going on with RL. It has two folders one called RL and one called RLui, i have been setting everything up in RLui and when i open the RL folder it also has another RLui folding inside of it. So im totally confused as to what is going on and why there are two of those folders.
Spawk Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Trab, just as a tip, stay out of HS until you can audit and launch games through RLUI. If they don't launch here there is zero chance they will work in HS. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
trab123 Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 There should only be 1 RocketLauncherUI folder, which is inside the RocketLauncher folder. Are you saying that you have a RocketLauncherUI folder that's outside of the RocketLauncher folder and one that's inside it? Yes i had that going on. I did finally get this thing working properly. Im not sure how but it seems when i extracted the RL.rar file it somehow gave me a RL folder, RLui folder, then i also had a RL/RLui both without a folder all inside the same folder. It was a cluster F**k of folders needless to say. Took me a good while to realize what had happened. Anyways so what i was doing was setting up one RLui and had it perfect, then i was pointing hyperspin to the RL.exe that was not associated with the RLui i had setup. Not sure how all that happened.
trab123 Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 I really appreciate all the help btw.
rastan Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 I had a older version of NullDC but never really liked using it because you could always see the frame of the Emulator in the background (perhaps I wasn't using the right version for the module?) no matter what setting I used it just wouldn't go full screen without seeing the outer frame of the emulator... that and the fact that I don't think the version I had was all that great because I hated playing the games with that emulator... anyways I recently started going thru my emulators and I updated to r150 (not sure if that's the most up to date version) and it works much better than the version i was using. it goes FULL SCREEN and I don't see the emulator at all.... not to mention the games seem to be a lot more enjoyable.
