Rotgut Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Looks like you have the same ones I have, except that I can't run BlazBlue because of my ATI GPU. Not sure if my KOF MI works or crashes like yours. I also have Choas Breaker setup, but did it through the loader just fine. As for it's super pixel look did you try using it with the pseudo-GLSL-bezel I made for it in the other TTX thread? Doesn't fix it, but it at least adds some scanlines to it to help define the pixel-mess it is. The game itself is my favorite of the TTX games. Ah I just realized I also have Wacky Racers and Half-Life which you don't have listed there. Austin has vids on those two. So wait — Taito had a Half-Life arcade game in Japan?? That is the same game as Half-Life 2?? I'm confused
vaderag Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Since it's a fullscreen bezel I didn't bother putting an ini in with mine. Works fine without it since the game centers itself. I'll post you one in a moment in that thread if you want it though. It's b0rking properly on mine... To be fair, i've not got to setting up bezels yet, so i may be doing something fundamentally wrong, but the image is appearing but at the low res of Chaos Breakerand all i'm seeing is a part of the screen... Edit - actually looking at it, it's still using the default bezel... I have RL\Media\Bezels\Taito Type X\Chaos Breaker folder structure and have also tried it under _default under TTX and it doesnt seem to be picking it up
Metalzoic Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 It's b0rking properly on mine... To be fair, i've not got to setting up bezels yet, so i may be doing something fundamentally wrong, but the image is appearing but at the low res of Chaos Breakerand all i'm seeing is a part of the screen... ok Here's an ini for you: [General] Bezel Screen Top Left X Coordinate=239 Bezel Screen Top Left Y Coordinate=0 Bezel Screen Bottom Right X Coordinate=1681 Bezel Screen Bottom Right Y Coordinate=1080 That works with the bezel, just name the bezel.png and the bezel.ini the same thing. For your RL bezel settings make "Fullscreen Bezel = False" and the first time you try it with this ini set "save last selection = False" too. If you don't do that it will probably continue showing it borked if it has that saved. Once it displays properly you can change that bezel setting back to true. Also the more I see of it the cooler this Chaos breaker game gets. It's pretty badass!
Styphelus Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 So wait — Taito had a Half-Life arcade game in Japan?? That is the same game as Half-Life 2?? I'm confused That is correct. It's called Hal-life 2: Survivor and it's controlled with 2 hands like a flight sim. It's got some additional modes but the story mode is the same exact game as Half-Life 2. It has arrows pointing where to go next and a timer for you to reach the next stage but it's the same game. Here is the cab: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/half-life/images/b/b4/Half_Life_2_Survivor_arcade.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20091113170306&path-prefix=en And a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj7h5zalscY

I'm still only seeing the top left corner of the screen. I guess this is something to do with the fact that it's dropping the screen resolution to play the game and the bezel is shifting everything across... any ideas? Are you forcing yours to run windowed or something?
vaderag Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Just been fiddling... using the Launcher rather than the bat I can get something close and with a bit more fiddling i recon I could get it to work. Except I have an issue where using the launcher runs it at like 10x speed... any ideas?
Metalzoic Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 No idea. It runs perfect for me. My Arcade PC Loader settings for it are 1920x1080, Fullscreen, Country - No Country (this gives you the Conan looking main character instead of the knight dude). It doesn't look like there are any other settings that work for this game. With those settings mine runs butter smooth, in its correct 4:3 aspect ratio. Here's a screen shot from my cab. I did notice that several of the other resolution options don't scale right to that bezel though (TTX acts pretty weird with bezels in general). EDIT: Also after some searching it seems there is a program called Game Loader All RH which can smooth out the pixels in this game and make it look way better. Apparantly the program is only in Chinese, so I'm downloading it from a super sketchy looking Spanish link right now to see if I can get it to work. You can see it in this vid here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4gAxUl6x90

The bezel is still a bit odd tho - i end up with it part way across the screen... It starts off looking promising (tho a bit shifted down), but then after the Taito logo flickers and shifts. http://prntscr.com/a6olb2
vaderag Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Yeah, so i think i know what's going on with my bezel... If you run the launcher itself, up until the end of the notice it stays small and then changes to the new res at the end of the notice. It's this change that throws the bezel. It looks great before that!
rastan Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I never used bezels for Taito Type X games before... I know with other systems I just set the bezel up normally by adding them to the media/bezel folder and turning on bezels in RL... with Taito Type X the bezel is for a specific game so I'm a bit unsure how to do it since I've never done it.. I'm pretty sure it's simple but I just need someone to point me in the right direction.. basically where do I put the .png file, etc.?
rastan Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I 100% disagree. When you are running an arcade cab with arcade controls, why on earth do I not want the authentic experience? Does the pc version have additional unneeded menus etc. Yes. Does the pc version ask to insert coin to use with my coin buttons? No. Ttx version works just fine, less fluff, more authentic. If you're not running a cab, I'd agree, but on a cab, authentic is best I have both SF4 for taito and the PC version.. not exactly sure if they are the same but the taito is obviously the arcade edition and the PC version I have is the ULTRA... haven't actually played much of them to even notice if anything is different but I will say I love the feel of the taito type x version because it has the arcade feel with the coins.. just feels better to play that version but the PC version I have is nice and definitely more straight forward as far as setting it up. I couldn't see myself playing the PC version on a cab because even on my laptop the arcade version feels better.... I should also mention that I'll probably be playing the PC version more than the taito type x version because after all.... emulation does suffer a bit when using it on my current machine lol. I did a benchmark with the PC version and had to lower some settings...

It starts off looking promising (tho a bit shifted down), but then after the Taito logo flickers and shifts. http://prntscr.com/a6olb2 Mine just started doing that too. You cursed me! I'm not sure why it's happening, but hit your "next bezel" control and it should fix itself. If it won't let you switch to the next bezel then make a copy of the bezel & ini, then paste it back into the same folder (it will add a "Copy" on the end of the name). Then it will let you switch. Been mesing with the RH Loader for hours now and finally got it to where it launches the game at the correct aspect ratio with FAA running to smooth the graphics. Problem is no matter what I try I can't set controls for that version. I've already spent several more hours on this than I will ever spend actually playing the game so I'm giving up on it for now.
vaderag Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 So just tested the RH loader and have managed to get it to work. No idea what any of the settings do, and no idea how to set the controls, but what it doesnt do is flash the screen at different sizes which means the bezel pretty much works! The bezel is 16:9 tho so would need changing to work as I can't get the RH loader to show in the right res for this (it stretches it slightly too) Still, i feel closer than i have been with that loader than the other one. The only way i could solve the other one is by adding a delay to loading the bezel, which, unless anyone can tell me otherwise, I dont think is possible...

I'm pretty sure it's simple but I just need someone to point me in the right direction.. basically where do I put the .png file, etc.? It basically works the same and the folder structure is the same as other systems. But if I remember right some TTX games have trouble with bezels. So what I do is under the TTX system settings in RocketLauncherUI I have "Enable Bezels = False" to keep them off in general, "Fullscreen Bezel = False" Then under the Games tab I right clicked on Chaos Breaker from the list and picked its individual game settings. In that settings menu I turned bezel on just for that game. I have both SF4 for taito and the PC version.. not exactly sure if they are the same but the taito is obviously the arcade edition and the PC version I have is the ULTRA... haven't actually played much of them to even notice if anything is different but I will say I love the feel of the taito type x version because it has the arcade feel with the coins.. just feels better to play that version but the PC version I have is nice and definitely more straight forward as far as setting it up. I did a benchmark with the PC version and had to lower some settings... The difference between the PC version and the arcade is pretty drastic. PC has more polish and has been re-balanced and patched more, has more playable characters, has more costumes (and possibly more colors), has more modes etc... All personal preference, but I prefer the PC version by far.

vaderag Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Just switch to the next bezel to have it re-size itself correctly. Maybe adding a longer fade delay could fix it too. tried both of these... I think I just need to edit your bezel to be 16:10 somehow and then all will work. I could maybe write an ahk script to launch which will automatically press the next bezel key 10secs after loading too... Maybe, if I can be bothered!!
vaderag Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Just switch to the next bezel to have it re-size itself correctly. Maybe adding a longer fade delay could fix it too. Do you happen to have a template for that bezel? I'm guessing you sourced it from somewhere and added the artwork? Just wondering if the same source had 16:10... If not I'll make one. I should totally give up on this, but sunk time and all that!! Still so much to do on my system!!
vaderag Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Well been messing around at lunch. Havent tested yet as TeamViewer messess up some of the launching, but using the original Loader, i have set CB to load an ahk script which sends my change bezel key after a set period of time (via the ahk key mapper). This, combined with a blank bezel I am hoping it will load first, will mean that the bezel will kick in after a short amount of time. Whether it works, will have to wait til i get home!! EDIT: managed to test. Seems that setting a wait in the keymapper AHK file doesnt work. So i'm going to create an exe and run with a batch file...
vaderag Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Trial and error - got there in the end 1) Resize bezel to fit screen 2) Set Fade In exit delay to cover the intro screen changes (still changes the fade to look a bit wierd for a second as the res changes, but not much can do about that) 3) Created an AHK which I run before launching the CB_Launcher.exe - this purely sleeps for 12 seconds then kicks in to send a "=" (which is what I have my next bezel set to) 4) Create two copies of the same bezel in the bezel folder for this game. Unfortunately the order does not seem able to be set - this is why i needed the fade to run longer. 5) SUCCESS I still need to tweak the ini or bezel size as i'm cutting off the left at present, but otherwise i'm done. All in all, a win. Learned a few things and maybe will help someone else... I hope the game is good now
Metalzoic Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Ha! Holy crap man! Glad you got it working, but that's a bunch of work for a bezel.
vaderag Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 You're not wrong. But i'd thrown so much time at it, to give up would have left me sleepless
rastan Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 still working on it.... copied the bezel.png and bezel.ini to the RL bezels, RL UI can see the media in the game options... turned on bezels for Chaos Break. set the main taito type x bezel settings to false & full screen false.. etc. launch the games and the bezel doesn't show up.. I'll continue to play with it...
