level42 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I'm trying to batch convert my roms into .7z format (Specifically for GameBoy) I've tried using Clrnamepro, which works great! however, the files inside the 7z are stripped of their extensions, and I don't know why or how to avoid this? When the .gb extension is removed, my emulator cannot located the files. Thusly, I've come to the community for tips and advice on how to do this.(EXAMPLE)Super Mario Land (World).gb Becomes: Super Mario Land (World) \ Super Mario Land (World).7z My HS Progress: MAME: 100% Daphne:100% Turbo Grafx16: 100% Neo Geo: 100% Atari2600: 100% Atari5200:100% Atari7800: 100% Atari Lynx: 100% NES: 100% SNES: 100% GameBoy: 100% N64: 100% SMS: 100% Genesis: 100% Sega CD: 100% Dreamcast: 100% Sega 32X: 100%
Tomkun Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 So you also want them in a folder with the same name?
Avar Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Is that the latest DAT file from HyperList? I just tested it on my roms and it's working fine. In the only other case of this happening that I could find info on, the victim had bad roms. Since the entire Nintendo Game Boy set is so small in size, the simplest solution could be to redownload a good set.
gargoyle67 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I've been coverting all my roms to 7z, extract all your roms then 7z them with PeaZip into seperate folders> http://www.peazip.org/ Fyi it doesn't matter that your 7z files don't have the .gb at the end as long as you set the 7z extention in HyperHQ. Edit** I've just re-read your op post, what emulator are you using ? Retroarch works perfect with the above settings also.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 7z is a very good compression tool. However lately RAR5 has come on leaps and bounds plus its still supported by RL and has a built in batch compression program. If however you still want to go with the 7z thing then you prob gonna have to go down making your own script. Here is an example... Not watched all the vid, but I think he is on the right lines hehehe... anyways, you get the point Simply Austin's YouTube
gargoyle67 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 As stated above PeaZip will bulk compress 7z or zips no need for scrips.
