TheMadHatter Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 So I have a PS4 Dualshock controller and i was going to try using that as the controller for the SSF emulator until my Original SegaSaturn/USB adapter controllers comes in. When I go to the controller settings of SSF and try to create a new button layout for the DualShock PS4 controller it doesnt allow me to assign buttons. Its just blank. Is a PS4 Controller not able to be used for that emulator?
thomas3120 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I believe I had the same problem. Do you have VJoy installed? If so, you have to temporarily disable it or uninstall, then assign your keys. t

swimminginthoughts Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I'm using this emulator with a PS3 controller. If I remember correctly, there's a drop-down with the controllers as an option—do you not see any controllers? It will recognize the controllers so no need to use a button mapper.

Ya but like on dragon force the buttons are mapped out that are used are like R1/O and Triangle id rather use X in there somewhere lol.

And actually the only reason my PS4 Controller was working was becasue it was somehow using the controller setting for my USB P880 controller bc i reset the controller settings and wont let me Redefine Control Pad just Blank little box pops up with no text. it LOOKS like the same box for when u can redefine keys but no text
TheMadHatter Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Anyone come across this issue with PS4 or Xbox 1 controller pads and SSF?
ninja2bceen Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Ya you have to map to keyboard. Only specific keys actually are mappable Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop

Avar Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I had an issue where no matter what I did SSF wouldn't save my input configuration upon closing the calibration window. I randomly fixed it by doing something simple but unintuitive, like unplugging the controller then re-plugging after a SSF reset or something. I forget. Sorry :x I know that's not much help.

One of those did you unplug and plug back in questions. lol i did try that. But honestly I might just put this issue on the side bc down the road im going to adapt an actual Sega Saturn controller to the configs and this PS4 controller issue will be forgotten. So ill prob just wait til i get my 4-Play in and just put that issue on hold. I was just hoping someone would of had the same issue down the road and it would of been like a "Oh ya u have to do this" answer lol. But honestly its a temp set up anyway so ill just wait for the adapter for my sega saturn controller to come. If i have issues with THAT controller then ill address those issues but i doubt it will. Good call. I'll try to remember what I did / recreate the issue myself. Yabouse is making strides lately as well apparently as far as Saturn emulation goes so I'll be checking it as well when the time comes.

Ya i wouldnt mind using Yabouse if it worked better with certain games. But SSF has been able to play the games. And id rather deal with tedious work arounds with SSF's controller config then not be able to play the game lol
