justinwebb Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I do a lot of programming with the Pi and the banana pi is crap honestly, its a poor clone and nothing really supports it nor will it. I made a gameboy raspberry pi and a few other things so far. They are fun to mess around with, I have one of each model and a few spares laying around for when i come up with stuff.
Zinger19 Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 I'd try the raspberry pi first before the banana pi. A lot of stuff isn't compatible with the banana yet. As long as you don't mind soldering you should be fine. NES Arcade Build StarKade: A Raspberry Pi Arcade 80's Toy Collection
Zinger19 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Just looking now at the banana pi. Looks like this could be really interesting. Nice specs for a tiny pc. You have much trouble with making it a small form factor? Keep me up to date with the overclock too, in hooked! I have successfully overclocked the Pi to a stable 1ghz with the cooling fins( The overclocking feature is actually built into the OS so it's pretty easy to do). I tried to overclock to turbo mode, but the Pi became unstable and froze. So that was a no go for more me. Slight increase in performance in FX games as was with PSX as well. System seems a little speedier as well. NES Arcade Build StarKade: A Raspberry Pi Arcade 80's Toy Collection
