firebird2727
As I get going on setting up systems in hyperspin. What are some practices people are doing to backup roms, videos etc. Also backing up hyperspin. Can I just copy the directories like c:/hyperspin. And if new setup needs to take place. I just install and copy over files from b ackup to keep same settings.

Backing up is very simple... just make copies of the HyperSpin and RocketLauncher folders (along with ROMs, emulators, etc). Restoring is as simple as just copying back over whatever is in place. Best practice is to keep the same drive and folder when restoring or moving setups. For example, moving everything from one machine to a new machine is as simple as copying c:\arcade on the old machine to c:\arcade on the new machine. badboo
A few months ago, my hard drive screwed up, thankfully I had a backup and I recovered my data in 5 days. Yes, 5 days, cause there are tons of tiny files recovering and fixing the hard drive to get those files..... Yes, try to create a backup. Recommended. griffin518
I use Crashplan for backups, both off-site (every 30 minutes) and to a 1TB portable USB hard drive (at least once a month) I stash in a fire safe. That way I've got the ability to restore quickly (on-site) as well as recover any small changes or the whole shebang if the world ends.
SkyHighGam3r
I just did a backup and restoration 2 days ago because I had to reinstall Windows 10.I literally just copy C:\Hyperspin over to my backup drive once a month. The only problem with having to restore is that some emulators, for some stupid reason I will never ever be able to understand, save their configurations to "My Documents" instead of in their own directories. So PCSX2 and Dolphin I had to completely re-configure....Other than that though, worked like a charm. I keep all my games on an external drive as it is so that wasn't affected. Also, i have to reinstall all my PC games, but that's low priority. I almost never played them anyway lol. Just Brutal Doom and Hitman.
badboo
I have a 5 tb hyperspin collection, and I have two 2tb hdd's to backup, so in case of a tragedy I would lose 1 tb of roms uff!!
SkyHighGam3r
If you create a blank txt file named "portable, txt" and place it in your Dolphin emu folder it will keep all the settings in there. That is FANTASTIC. Does it put your existing settings in there, or do you need to re-configure it again?
