AYOOOB Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Hi everyone How can I setup zinc because I did everything but when click in a game the DOS windows appear and disappear immediately How could I fix it ?
32assassin Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 what exactlly is everything? can you post a screen shot of your zinc emulator folder to make sure you followed the module instructions ;---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ; Notes: ; Script relies on a zinc.cfg in the emu dir which contains all the parameters sent to the emu ; This is made for you by using Aldo's ZiNc Front-End v2.2. ; Zinc uses numbers, not romnames to choose what game to load. The module does the remapping for you so your database should consist of proper short rom names, not numbers. ;---------------------------------------------------------------------------- after you do all that you need to create a folder with FAKE ROMS, this fake roms will consist of emty folders zipped and numbered (1-81). When hyperlaunchHQ audits your roms it will see the fake roms but load the proper short named roms.
AYOOOB Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 note that i am using the latest ahk file and xml file
32assassin Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 you don't need to keep the folders wind3d or winogl in your zinc emulator folder. when you download the d3d-ogl12.zip file; you found this files renderer.cfg wind3d/renderer.znc winogl/renderer.znc you have to replace the default video renderer that comes with the zinc emulator. depending on your video card you have to choose between the d3d or ogl options. did you move this files into your zinc emulator (renderer.cfg and renderer.znc) replace the default ones.? the roms have a number in front of the rom names The emulator loads by the number not the rom name. from your rom directory picture, hyperluanch will not find your roms. ( you should also be able to play the game by highlighting it and pressing the play button) THE XML only has the numbers, for what ever reason some people rename their roms from the actual name to the number system so that they will work in hyperspin., don't do that!!!! create a fake roms folder in your rom directory. add some empty folders names should be number 1-71 after that make sure to zip them. fake folder created in my rom directory fake folder rom path added to hyperlaunch empty folders zipped and named using number system when ever you audit your zinc through hyperlaunch. Hyperlaunch will see the fake files but load the correctly named roms.
AYOOOB Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 so you mean i should replace the old , ahk file and xml ?
AYOOOB Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 yes i moved renderer.cfg , and renderer.znc
AYOOOB Posted October 29, 2013 Author Posted October 29, 2013 thanks man really appreciate it thanks for the help again its working now thanks again
mikeyngo Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Followed your tutorial. Created the fake folder 1-71 and zipping them individually. Added two rom path in HyperlaunchHQ Ran the audit, all is green. However, when I'm trying to launch the game, it says your ROM 1 is not support by Zinc. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
AYOOOB Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 i dont think you need to do that after the update if you updated your zinc modules its should work normally without doing "Fake roms" thing (try to download the ZincFE.exe gui , its makes things easier to you )
32assassin Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 yeah, this tread needs to be locked or deleted. if you are running the latest Zinc module version 2.0.2 you no longer need to add any fake files. module 2.0.2 now uses an XML with rom names not numbers. all you need to do is - get the zinc module version 2.0.2 - make sure you install Aldos Zinc GUI ( and you can load games outside of hyperspin) - MAKE SURE YOU GET THE XML WITH NAME NOT NUMBERS--> http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?28314-HyperLaunch-v3-0-1-0-Update&p=269046&viewfull=1#post269046 unfortunately the artwork found in hyperbase still has numbers it needs to be updated, you will need to rename all your files manually to match the new XML. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29456-Zinc-artwork-match-new-database
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Hmmmmmm... I have all my Roms labeled as numbers? Does this mean that I need the older Module? I have updated everything but HL tells me this module does not work with ZiNc... even though its the Zinc Module and ZincFE?? For example it says.... Your romName is: 22 It is not one of the known supported roms for the Zinc module: ZiNc Simply Austin's YouTube
xHyperSteve Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Dude get Aldo's 2.2 zinc interface and download the rom set that is on PD. they will be properly named then find the XML file on some pastebin website that has correct short rom names not numbers.Copy and past that into a new Zinc.xml and all should be working. SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Thats the thing....? I downloaded the one from PD. The Arcade bundle with MAME, Zinc etc. I did not need MAME as I already have it, but it seems to have some larger files in this which I spose are CHD's? Anyways back on track... these files are the numbered veersion. If I use the Zinc Emu the module doesnt like it as it wants names. If I use the PSXMAME the Emu doesnt like it as it wants names? Now im stuck hehehe Simply Austin's YouTube
xHyperSteve Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Hmmm I use the rom version that are zipped. I don't know what CHD is for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Be sure to like! Also, subscribe to my YouTube Channel for more videos/HyperSteve https://twitter.com/HyperSteveShow
hypermame55 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 32assassin, just one quick question... I updated my setup to the new module and database you suggested. The games load through ZincFE2 fine. In hyperlaunch, it will only load the first game I launch. After I exit the game I get an "error waiting for window zinc ahk_class ConsoleWindowClass". If I try to launch a different game through hyperlaunch, it loads the first game instead. Any ideas why this would happen?
hypermame55 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Just saw I have HL 3.0.0.9. Its probably that. Will upgrade and post back! Updated HL and still same error. Anyone else have this problem? EDITED Just noticed the Global setup with my Zinc emulator had a wrong path. Instead of pointing to zinc.exe, it was pointed to a .bat file. Switched it and it runs like butter now!
