Light gun setup in MAME

Hi,

I have problems setting up my Aimtrak light guns in MAME. They both work fine in Windows (just like a mouse). But I get no reaction from the guns in MAME. My mouse (or trackball) works fine in the light gun games however. Anyone with any ideas?

Are you using a raw input version of mame ?

Excuse my ignorance, but I have no idea. I am using a MAME that is a few versions old (0.147 if I remember correctly). So, should I use some other version?

Sorry to bump an old thread but is the RAW Input build required for AimTrack guns or is it just required for 2 of those guns?

Thinking I may have to use a special MAME build just for this

I'm not 100% but I think you only need the raw input version if you have 2 guns or a gun + trackball.

I do have a gun and trackball but will only use the guns when I open the "Gun Games" wheel so will likely user the special MAME just for that.

Any other use cases that require the raw input MAME?

BTW, I do also have a buddy who has a son named Connor. Would be bad ass if he was a gamer too but i'm thinking he's probably not.
