Retroarch controller conflicts with Xpadder + MAME with Retroarch

So, I almost have everything set up just the way I want it after working on this off and on for over a year.

Part 1.

I decided to switch all my emulators to Retroarch. Should had done that a long time ago.

Retroarch automatically detects my wireless Xbox One controller/Microsoft receiver and maps all the buttons perfectly and automatically. Very cool

I have Xpadder configured so that I can navigate Hyperspin - as we all know HyperHQ joystick config is buggy in HS (why is it even there?).

The problem arises when I press a button on my Xbox One controller, it is mapped to a keyboard key as well in Xpadder. These keyboard keys just happen to be mapped to Retroarch Hotkeys as well. Just as an example: So in an SNES game, I might try and press the jump button, but it also triggers the Retroarch hotkey for Slow Motion.

I am sure someone else has encountered this issue. It might be an obvious fix, I'm hoping at least.

Part 2.

I can set up all default emulators in HyperLaunch HQ as Retroarch. When I try to do this for Arcade Games, there is no option for Retroarch, just MAME. I do have an older version of Hyperspin - little over a year old. Would like to avoid updating just because I have everything the way I want it now aside from these two issues.

If you don't plan on using the hotkeys in retroarch just disable them. If you are using planning on using the hotkeys just change the ones giving you problems.

Thank you. I actually installed the newest update of Hyperspin, and my Xbox controller seems to be working natively in HS since the update. Has that issue been totally fixed?

Regarding my second question regarding MAME and Retroarch? How can I get HLHQ to detect Retroarch as a default emulator?

Yeah I use a 360 controller and it works ok sometimes it's a little glichty.

You should probably just update to rocketlauncher it has automatic updates. There is a transition pack you can download.

if by Arcade Games you mean "Custom System Name", and you CAN use the retroarch emulator on your custom XML.

you can open HyeprlaunchHQ

-click on the HyperlaunchHQ tab  (not 100% on the name since I have Rocketlauncher and its named RocketlauncherUI)

-Under the General Options Section

look for "Valid Emulator/Modules Only"  --> remove the check

-->   every single emulator will be listed in your drop down menu when you go to assign a default emulator.
