damageinc86 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I posted this on the rlauncher forums too, but since it has to do with hyperspin as well, figured i'd try my luck here also. So I made a bezel for the Dreamcast using Demul, and I got it looking fine launching from RL outside of Hyperspin. When it is then launched from within Hyperspin, there is a border of blank empty space all around it, which shows hyperspin behind it. I tried making the bezel a little larger and it still gets resized and put within this blank space all around it. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.
kylecp1979 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Have you tried adding a black background to your bezel? Here is a video that pretty much covers ever thing about bezels about 9:30 into the video he talks about backgrounds
damageinc86 Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 I don't know if it has to be named a certain way. but I put a black Backround.png in both the _Default folders within Backgrounds and Bezels, and still have that blank border only in hyperspin. I also tried it with some random mame backgrounds that are in a folder called Horizontal, within the _Default Bezel folder, and those show up in RL So it didn't have to be named anything in particular for the mame backgrounds to work, even within it's own folder under _Default. Seems like as long as it has the word Background in it, RL uses those. Still blank in Hyperspin though. Its as if Hyperspin is ignoring the Background that RL wants to draw to the screen, because the blank space is exactly how much is usually being filled by the RL background outside of Hyperspin. I also don't know why the heck I'd even need to use a background as my bezels are my exact resolution (1920x1080). Maybe it is something that is going wonky because i'm using Demul? Because every other Bezel has been fine up until this one.
Metalzoic Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 It almost looks like HS is running in a window that doesn't quite reach the edges. You're 100% positive that your bezel doesn't have a transparent edge around it like it looks there?
damageinc86 Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 Yeah it's completely flush with 1080x1920, in photoshop and in rocketlauncher. There is no space in the file, it's crazy. My hyperspin is set to fullscreen. I think I may just chalk it up to this emulator having something that hyperspin itself can't translate from rocketlauncher, because like i said, every single bezel on every other system has worked just fine. Unless some whiz can figure it out, I'm almost done trying lol.
