My setup on Shield TV is a complete mess...

Hi everyone, i'm having a bunch of issues with Hyperspin and i don't even know where to start...

I've put on the SD card a clean Hyperspin installation with just the Android fix and the Android_Settings Folder, The main menu looks like this:

On pc looks fine, so everything is in the right place.

I tried to make the SNES work since it's one of the few that shows, imported my database with my romlist and my themes, visually everything seems ok but i can't get the rompath right, the whole Hyperspin installation is on a SD card (32GB SanDisk http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41HHaOvRAqL.jpg ).

For some reason the device decided to name the SD card like this:

oRclYtN.jpg

(this is from ES file Explorer on the shield TV showing the path to the rom folder)

Every time i format the SD card from windows the name changes, and i've tried basically everything, /storage/sdcard1, /storage/sdcard0, /storage/sdcard, /storage/CA42-4CDB, nothing works.

The games load fine on Retroarch with no issues.

The games are unzipped and I've edited the settings file accordingly.

Tried with both HyperSpin 1.3 and 1.4 (if that makes any difference)

I'm basically lost... any ideas?

There are better people in here that I'm sure will help you out soon, I only use the internal storage so not sure about sdcards

But it does sound like settings file or database problem. Do you get a wheel of all your games or just kicked staight back to the main menu if you select snes?

If you don't get the games wheel then check filter by roms only is false in settings ini, and all other filters are false (wheels/themes). If you get a games wheel then database should be ok.

Check your rom extensions are correct also.

If you get the error attempting to launch missing rom then it will be the rompath.

I'm sure someone will help you out with the rompath soon enough

It's possible the capital S in HyperSpin is throwing things off but I don't know.

The "CA42-4CDB" represents the UUID of that drive volume.

Both of these should work for you:

   rompath=Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/

      or

   rompath= /storage/CA42-4CDB/Hyperspin/Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/

In case of second example, Hyperspin app will auto-search-find and prefix the path with /storage/CA42-4CDB/Hyperspin/....

I suspect you have the wrong file extension (or something like that).

I've been working on my shield tv build for a couple of weeks now and only got the following systems complete and running smooth= nintendo,super nintendo,sega master system,sega 32x,sega mega drive and gameboy.

now the best way to go about how i done it is to download the ANDROID hyperspin folder.

download retroarch on your shield, in retroarch go to online updater and click on core updater, update the system cores that you are going to use,then update core info files,assets,databases and then quit retroarch

now add the hyperspin folder to the root of your sd card, usb drive or your shields main drive.

now open up the folder and go to the EMULATORS folder.

open it up and make the folders of the systems you are going to add. note that each folder will have to be named correctly. example- Super Nintendo Entertainment System

in each of the system folders you just created add a "roms" folder to each one.

now in the settings folder each system has an ini file here are how i have mines,

Super Nintendo Entertainment System=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\emulators\Super Nintendo Entertainment System\
rompath=Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/
userompath=true
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
romextension=smc
parameters=cores/bsnes_mercury_performance_libretro_android.so

searchsubfolders=true

Sega Master System=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\emulators\master system\
rompath=Emulators/master system/roms/
userompath=true
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
romextension=sms,zip
parameters=cores/picodrive_libretro_android.so

searchsubfolders=true

Sega Genesis=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\emulators\Sega Genesis/
rompath=Emulators/Sega Genesis/roms/
userompath=true
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
romextension=zip
parameters=cores/picodrive_libretro_android.so

searchsubfolders=true

Sega 32X=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\emulators\Sega 32X/
rompath=Emulators/Sega 32X/roms/
userompath=true
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
romextension=zip
parameters=cores/picodrive_libretro_android.so

searchsubfolders=true

Nintendo Game Boy=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\Emulators\Nintendo Game Boy\
rompath=Emulators/Nintendo Game Boy/Roms/
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
parameters=cores/gambatte_libretro_android.so

romextension=zip,rar

Nintendo Entertainment System=

[exe info]
path=H:\hyperspin\Emulators\Nintendo Entertainment System\
rompath=Emulators/Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/
userompath=true
exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture
romextension=zip,nes
parameters=cores/nestopia_libretro_android.so

searchsubfolders=true

i hope this helps anyone who has problems setting their build up and remember all your roms have to match your XML database file so if you have got dons hyperspin tools start renaming your roms before adding them to your system folders. and i am new to this i am not an expert i just have a passion for building things and gaming .
