Hi Guys,

 

tried  R.H and Reloaded releases of the game and both get stuck on this initial autosave warning disclaimer screen, there is no info on google about it, has anyone seen this or knows a way to fix the issue? I have tested teh game on 2 different systems

system 1:

Running Win 10 and Intel Graphics 5000 on an i5 2.0ghtz intel nuc. 16gb ram

 

system 2: Win 7 pro sp1 with an nvidia GTX 770 8gb ram

 

both have the same result, making me think its the game itself but strangely different releases exhibit same symptom. I have also tried the default keys for the game in-case its waiting for a input to get passed, unless I am missing an input altogether.

I've installed the runtime / direct x required files already. Tried compatibility modes / admin  etc. If anyone else is running a different working version of the game please let me know,

So do I use this as an excuse to buy it in the Steam sale? :)

yes i have not excluded that and i have purchased retail copies previously just to have the license then used the other versions as they just launch better on an arcade cabinet. I was hoping to find the root cause of the issue before I gamble my money on a full version. Anyways back to the question at hand.

I've used a non-Steam version before and never ran into that issue.

Thanks mate, exactly what I am saying, it should not happen especially across 2 different setup workstations. Question:

1. which release did you use

2. What steam_api.dll did you use? did it come with release or did u download manually,

3. does that screen change by itself or you need to hit a key to bypass?

4. the warning red hexagon in the top right corner, is that static or animated, asking to see if its just a static screen or animated one

5. are you on the internet on the host machine

Question.. If I get the steam version, taking in account steam games are a nightmare to launch from HS, then add the cracked steam_api.dll files will that then work? excuse the noobiness...

Steam games are dead simple to run from RL/HS. Add it to the database, add the SteamID number, add to the PCLauncher module & launch.

I just bought Street Fighter X Tekken and had the game configured, patched, setup and working from RL/HS, converted a 4:3 theme to widescreen in Hypertheme & downloaded the video for it all in less than 30 minutes.

The only part that took awhile was binding the controls in-game (works perfect on a keyboard encoder by the way).

Making the Wheel art for it now which will probably take 2 or 3 minutes.

thanks very much, does this cover the problem at hand?

from my testing it seems like you need to hit Enter key to progress from the first screen however i have tried with the keyboard and nothing on both arcade setups. The only thing i can think off without doing more tests is it doesn't like when a "keyboard encoder" is plugged in, 1 has an ipac the other a kade encoder. Curious to know if anyone has this running with a keyboard encoder attached.

ok i think i know what the problem might be, (ill test tonight)

When you have a setup that has both a keyboard and a gamepad connected player 1 defaults to the game pad and keyboard becomes the player 2. Hence why it doesn't work when you startup the game. I also have a 4snes4nes with 2 snes pads, unfortunately nothing is connected to the 1/2 snes game port as per standard install disgram  so the game might be looking for a input on these, I have port 3 and 4 always connected.  might not be able to hit enter on the pad.

Looking on the above picture as an example does anyone know if its possible to disable the game controller service or specific game controllers in windows? For example disable the highlighted xbox and joystick 1 controllers (1 and 2)?

OR

Swap the order these are assigned?, e.g swap controller 4 with controller 1?

ok guys, this was the cause as i predicted.

When you have a permanently connected controller to your setup Darius assigns player 1 controls to the first joystick in you game controllers list and player 2 defaults to keyboard controls. As i am running this on a snes pc with the raphnet 4nes4snes adapter with a standard wire config the 2 front snes ports use the 3 and 4 port leaving port 1 and 2 unused. Unfortunately Darius assigns to port 1. So to fix this you wire a non standard wiring to the alternate ports or disable the first 2 controllers in device manager. This fixed the issue.

You could watch my old YT vid on adding Steam games and if it's only a few then you won't need to use SteamWheelCreator. 

About 8 minutes in you should see what is added into the fields, normally just the Steam ID.

 

You could also add Steam Big Picture as a wheel and RL will load straight to it.

Well I hope it's good, I gave myself a treat in the final hour of the sale and bought this and Doom. There were plenty more I wanted but they will have to wait.
