What does it mean if a game playes through an emu but when loaded up in RL ya get the default bezel etc but is blank and no game will come on ?

Also try setting "Fullscreen Bezel" to "False"

Could be Desktop settings for Mame, I've had a blank screen if "Hide Emulator" is set wrong.

hey guys, yep its retroarch I'm setting up with genesis, it works just with retro on its own but not with RL,  I got mame sorted and works perfectly so I'm really pleased about that :)  Agent ive checked 7z but not sure what to check next. Does Retro have a log file like Mame ?

Ive got hide emu set to false, ive checked the other settings but I'd covered those so their fine on that score but still no game load...

If you do not wish to use MultiGame support you can archive your roms/images and m3u generation will be skipped on launch. 
; The m3u files generated by the module contain a list of paths to all roms/images in the multi-disc set. Retroarch automatically loads the first path in the m3u so the first path will always be the disc you are loading. For example, Final Fantasy VII has 3 discs and if you load Disc 2 first, the order of the paths in the m3u will be disc 2, disc 3, disc 1. If you load Disc 3 first, the order will be disc 3, disc 1, disc 2. The module anticipates this and will load the correct disk, selected from the Pause/MultiDisk menus. However if you choose to manually use Retroarch's UI or disk swap keys to change discs, you will need to keep this in mind.
; In order for RocketLauncher's MultiGame UI to swap discs, you must define Eject_Toggle_Key, Next_Disk_Key, and Previous_Disk_Key under global settings for the emulator in RocketLauncher. Because AHK and Retroarch use different naming conventions for some keyboard keys, it is best to use a letter, a number, or F1-F12.

Your rom is 7z so you need to have 7z enabled set to true for Genesis in RLUI, you have it set to false currently.

yep i switched it but get an error message saying waiting for window retroarch .ahk class, i'm playing around with settings in the hope I'll find something

Try turning off bezels in RLUI for Genesis and see if the game will launch.

Nope not a dickie bird... i just get error now about the error waiting for the window "retroarch ahk_class Retroarch Please check you have correct version emulator installed for this module.

Are you using RetroArch from the build you downloaded the other day?  That should fire right up with no issues.

Hiya giga, no its a build i downloaded from Austin about 4 weeks ago already configured, I used it a bit on the other set up, I dont remember seeing the retro on here for D/L. The Aladdin works if i just fire retro on its own without RL but I'll check the contents though Agent

Is the file inside the Aladdin (USA).7z also named Aladdin (USA)? RL should throw an error if not but it's worth checking just in case.

Well that's not named correctly which could be causing the issue when launching from RL and probably isn't even the right game to begin with. You should also scrap the RA build you downloaded from Austin as that thing is ancient and there have been many more advancements with RA since then.

 

I thought you said you downloaded Giga's build? If you did there's a RA build in there you can use. Otherwise you're better off grabbing a fresh one directly from the RA site.

Hiya Met, yep Giga was kind of saying the same, I think once i get the hang of doing things and know what folders go where then I'll be sailing along but thanks to the guys on here I've been getting through it :)

Hey guys :) erm.... super nintendo system,   Ive got carts in Artwork 4 and box art in Artwork 3 but loading HS and going into SNES game menu, it shows carts but no boxes,   Any clues agent or Giga ? :)

My database in RL for dreamcast games doesnt seem correct as the downloads ive got theres more games than whats on the RL list, how do i fix that ?

Databases all go in the same place.

Your HyperSpin database folder, within it's system folder.
