GMT Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Ok Agent ive downloaded the bios files seperatley and ive extracted into a folder. demul/emulators/roms. Ive opened the demul config screen but the bios's are shaded out so not sure what to do.
GMT Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 You don't need to extract them, you can just put the zip or 7z file in there. The Naomi bios in the config menu should be set to Auto-Select. Agent ve sorted it but everytime i load up from HS the demul config screen comes up and sits there for about a minute, How do i stop it from doing that ?
GMT Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Did you set all of your paths and plugins in Demul? Can you run a game through Demul directly (outside of RL/HS)? Yep i can run a game from the outside, the intro skips a bit though and skips in HS too and RL
GMT Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 Hey Agent i think ive sorted it... lots of reading...got square eyes now lol. oh just a thought but would you guys know anything about winuae3.1 and amiga errors ? ct not found "object not found on loading "game".slave.
gigapig Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 If I remember correctly that error is usually related to not having the KickstartFile set in the RLUI module settings. That or bad Rom maybe. GMT would need to set the path to the kickroms and then do a scan but he would need a good set. The WHDLoad license file is no longer required so it shouldn't be that.
GMT Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 Yeah, bad roms was gonna be my next guess. I figured it was easier to check if the kickstart was set first. Jeeez you guys are so good, and so right on the nail too both of you Thank you guys

GMT Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 Something different though. Commodore roms = 8312 before audit and 8192 after audit thats 120 games missing any clues ? Amiga roms 2,743 before audit and 1954 after audit = 789 missing. any clues on that 1 ? and in the module notes it says i have to tick a box in RL for the ini file to be created for the commodore64 emu for games to work but i cant find the box that it refers too so non starter ( Thanks in advance guys

I good idea would be to get RLUI to show the missing list which you can set from the drop down under Audit and then export that list. Maybe then check them through Tur-Matcher or Hypertools. There should already be a ini file in the module folder and it should be being used, you'll have to check.

Its the save settings on exit i cant find and do they mean in the module settings or the general settings bud ?

GMT Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 just did a tur match of the commodore 64 roms and I'm like over a 100 games missing, and i know the full set of 64 roms are really hard to obtain so theres not much i can do about that which is a shame.

Metalzoic Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 oh and the mame set im over 1000 roms missing and it was supposed to be a full set too A full set for which version and did you make sure your database is for that exact same version and complete? Are you sure the database doesn't simply have those games removed (such as Mature, Mahjong etc...) And did you grab both the ROMs & the CHDs for a complete set? Do you have your RL MAME Skip_Checks setting set to Roms Only?

Do you have your RL MAME Skip_Checks setting set to Roms Only? Hiya Met Erm... Yep mames 0.175 Roms, Ya know the funny thing is is that i downloaded the chds (400) gigs... added them and did an audit and nothing changed at all, weird thing is though is that on an audit just for Mame most are green apart from about maybe 30, but if i audit one of the classiscs that uses the mame roms it comes up like theres absolutley hundreds missing on each classic, Im wondering if Ive got a dodgy datababse. The skip check option, which setting is it supposed to be on ?
GMT Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 oh and another weird thing is is that if i look at the 64 roms and then look at the list in RL theres about 20 games missing just from the top alone in RL, I got the database from here last night so i know its not a DB problem,

The skip check option, which setting is it supposed to be on ? If they show up in green except for about 30, then they match and you don't have over 1000 missing like you said. You didn't mention that it was your classics that had the issue... it's hard to help someone if they are leaving specific information out. For Classics I'm guessing you mean manufacturer wheels, like Atari Classics, Williams Classics etc? If that's the case did you make the databases yourself? If you grabbed a database from here or somewhere else did you make 100% sure it's for your 175 version of MAME? Personally I'd say if you want classic manufacturer wheels you absolutely need to re-make them yourself from your current MAME database. You do that using Don's Tools. Set Skip_Checks to Roms Only for just your MAME and Classics systems, not Globally (That might make your 30 missing games go green... not sure)

GMT Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 They won't go green but they'll be playable. Skip checks has no effect on the audit so even if you have skip checks set to Rom Only the audit will still scan for the file. Hiya Agent, thanks for that bud, ive just got Dons tools, looks pretty complicated at first glance.

gigapig Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Module settings ,Save settings on exit creates the vice.ini file the module needs to run. Its the save settings on exit i cant find and do they mean in the module settings or the general settings bud ? Going back to Winvice, run x64.exe from the Winvice folder. Click Settings and the set the 2 settings like I have in the pic below. "Save Settings on Exit " will create the vice.ini file which the module needs and turning off "Confirm Quitting Vice" will stop the nag screen on exit.

GMT Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 This Dons Hyper Tools, it creates databases and if so based on what ? So if ive got say a rom set that I've put together myself I can create a DB based on what roms I've got and use them ? If so at what point do i do the renaming ? and would i be using the tur matcher for that ? Theres alot of exe's in the file that I'm not quite sure about so havent messed about too much,

If so at what point do i do the renaming ? and would i be using the tur matcher for that ? Theres alot of exe's in the file that I'm not quite sure about so havent messed about too much, Most of it is pretty self-explanatory if you just play with it a bit, they're named after what the do for the most part. If you're using it to create databases for your classics, use the generator, give it your MAME database to work from, type in the manufacturer you want to filter by (eg: Atari). It will pull a list of all the Atari games. Change them all from "Don't Add" to Selected click the create XML from selected button. Done in literally seconds. Want to do another? Then just change those all back to "Don't Add" put in the next manufacturer and repeat. You can also use it to remove games, remove genres, find games by description on-and-on. It's how people customize their DB's. How I remove all the massive crap from MAME I don't want like the Mega-Touch or bar games, Shogi, boardgames, prototypes that suck, bootlegs that suck. Also remember if you're making a Midway Wheel, that Midway also includes Bally games so mix those two together... Bally/Midway After you have your XML's all made run them through the List Splitter to split out their genre XML's and you're done. Like Agent said, I wouldn't rename anything. If you grabbed the right roms to start with then they are already all named correctly anyway.
