Fightstick is a nightmare!! Please Help

Hi Guys,

 

I have always used xbox 360 controllers for my setup,

 

I have recently made a completely separate hyperspin just for Fighting and arcade stick related games,

 

I have one Ps3 Fightstick which I use with a chronus max stick which makes it show up as an Xbox Controller,

 

I have recently bought an "Xbox 360 Madcatz SF TE", I assumed this Fightstick would just function in the exact same way as an Xbox 360 pad,

 

But unfortunately it shows up under usb game controllers as "(Arcade Stick) Street Fighter IV Fightstick TE"

 

And the button configuration is not the same as a 360 pad, the RB and LT and Rt and LB are all mixed up,

 

This means that all of my Cfg files for mame are useless etc etc,

 

All I want is the fightstick to be registered as a 360 pad, surely that cant be that difficult?

 

I have installed the Xbox £60 Controller Drivers To the fightstick but it still functions the same,

 

Is there any way I can change the button layout?

This doesn't work for me unfortunately there is no remap option,

So you're saying you can't remap the controls?

Couldn't you remap the controls for P2 in MAME and always use that stick for Player 2?

I could remap all the controls but i have a full setup with a lot of games including Pc games, plus cfg files set up for each of my separate roms,

 

I could remap all the controls but then the setup would not work correctly with 360 controllers,

 

also this would be a massive job and surely the stick should just work the same as a 360 controller seeing as it uses the same drivers etc,

 

Surely there must be a workaround??

I just meant remap the P2 universal controls in MAME. Only take a couple minutes, but would only fix it for MAME and you'd have to use that joystick as the 2P stick only.

 

Would Xpadder or Joy2key work for re-mapping it? Or the x360ce.exe/hack... I believe that's used to convert dinput controllers to xinput/360 controllers.

 

I'm just throwing out ideas to try, I keep mine to an iPac myself since it has so few issues compared to controller/joysticks etc...

if you are set on using your current cfg files,  Open your new controller,

 

if it looks like this

 

 

 

 you might be able to switch a few wires to match the layout you want

 

 

 

if not you are pretty much forced to rebuild a second set of cfg files or get another controller that matches your cfg files.

Swapped over the wires,

 

now working perfect!

ok an added note, looks like i celebrated too soon,

 

although this configuration works perfecctly for mame,

 

unfortunately the pc games now all have the wrong buttons,

 

I think i am just going to get another chronus stick,

 

at least then it will work properly all of the time,
