Problems with CD Systems emulation (NEC TurboGrafx-CD, NEC PC-FX, SNK Neo Geo CD)

Hello there, HyperSpin Community! I am new here and i am not sure if this is the right place to ask questions like this. BTW, sorry for my awful English.

I am trying to add some CD systems to my HyperSpin but the emulators (Or modules) just don't want to work correctly.

Firstly i tried to emulate PC-FX and TurboGrafx-CD via mednafen, but it says that games are too big. Then i tried more specialized emulator - Magic Engine FX. But this one don't even want to see games and when i try to launch game through RocketLauncher it just opens itself.

Almost same problem i have with Neo Geo CD. I am trying to use Raine64 but is shows a lot of errors with missing files and then closes itself.

Thanks for attention to my topic.

Firstly welcome to the forum and your English seems fine to me.

Now you must try to get the games running in the emulator before adding them to Rocketlauncher\Hyperspin.

If you need help setting up the emulator then I suggest reading the module notes which you can access either from within Rocketlauncher UI or the text at the top of the module if you open it in notepad. The notes will give you advice on if bios files are required etc.

Your ROM archives are also important, try to get hold of "Hyperspin Ready" sets which will match the Database and will audit correctly.

I personally use Retroarch for all those systems and there is a build in the platinum users section with those systems setup but you will need bios files and some experience getting the rest working so maybe get familiar before jumping into that.

Good luck and if in doubt ask the question.

gigapig is absolutely right, you need to get a handle on the emulation within retroarch first. It does have a slight learning curve for someone who is new to working with it. I would suggest you look at some of Avar's and Simply Austin videos on YouTube here
