richie_jones
Having trouble finding a monitor that remembers it's power state when the plug is pulled. What success have people had wiring up a remote button to there monitor power button. Is it as simple as wiring in a momentary switch to the same pins as the monitor.???? bsymon
I have a Dell (don't remember the exact name) and it save its state when unplugged. Something like this one : https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/electronics/dell/cnet_ultrasharpu3011-gallery-01.jpg (except I've a 16:9)
madhatter3339
yeah I believe if your pulling the plug everytime it wont remember the power on state but if you have it on a powerstrip or a smartstrip and turning it off that way it should. I don't think I've ever had a monitor that didn't remember the power on state as long as it was never completely unplugged!!
richie_jones
Surely if the power strip is powered down its the same as unplugging the monitor. Don't those powerstrips just turn on and off if the master socket is switch on and off?

madhatter3339
As long as I don't hit the power button on the monitor and I turn it off on the power strip all I have to do is hit the switch on the powerstrip and it turns on the monitor. Once you actually pull the plug out then it has to be turned on with the power button!
griffin518
I'm using this monitor for my cabinet build. It's amazing... and it remembers power state (one of my requirements): https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2760H-27-inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00IZBIMLK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1470684267&sr=8-2&keywords=benq+gw2760hs
richie_jones
Yeah it's really annoying that they don't state it in the specs!!
progets
I use an Asus monitor and it has an option to "resume after power failure". I use the same type of setting in my PC BIOS. I have a master power switch that connects to a power strip inside the cab that turns everything on (or off) all at once. Most PCs have this setting in the BIOS. A lot of monitors have it too but it's usually not enabled by default.
