mrbatfunk Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 A bit dramtic, but im desperate and need all the help i can get. The problem is simple. When launching certain PC games, HyperSpin becomes active during the games attempt at a resolution change. The game runs in the background, and rocket launcher sits waiting (wait close) for the game to close. If i exit the game (alt tab or end process), rocket launcher finishes the script as if nothing untoward ever happened. Ignorance is bliss!! If the game has an option to change resolution then this solves the problem. Its the games that don't have the option. Fist Puncher, for example, has no resolution options but i can run it windowed. When run windowed, rocket launchers bitch hyperspin remains in the background until i exit. Like it should. It was during this trial and error investigation that it dawned on me. This same problem is probably what has been affecting my Type X games, but in a different, even more twisted way. I know TTX games can be problematic to say the least. They work flawlessly now on my oldschool (HyperLaunch) setup, but that took blood. The TTX games that have issues, behave similar, only they usually hang or crash when they are not active. If they crash, RLauncher continues normally. If they don't, it waits. Like a sick voyeuristic f@@k, it feeds off my pain. I hope someone out there has a solution to my problems. The sleep deprivation/caffeine combo does not agree with me whatsoever. And my kids miss me.
Metalzoic Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 And you have all these PC/TTX games set with either an AppWaitExe or a FadeTitle in the PCLauncher module settings? For example many TTX games need "game.exe" set as the AppWaitExe. Sent from my SM-G935V
rastan Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 yeah, setting the AppWaitExe does the trick and also that return to focus..... helps a lot for TTX
mrbatfunk Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 Thanks for the replies. All appwait, fade and return focus settings are on where applicable. It took me serious time to get the ttx running on my other HS setup. I have just been messing around with Game Loader All RH. Got most of the TTX stuff working now. With the loader, the resolution settings can be modified extensively . Some good ol' trial and error again, and et voila. They work. Just Tetris is not regaining focus now. PC Games though, are still doing this if they do not have an in game option to change the resolution. I suspect its a low resolution causing the problems, as sometimes (very rarely) HyperSpin returns super small and my taskbar is half way up my screen! This is random amongst the problematic titles and just seems to occur maybe 1 in 25 times, but the log says I'm hallucinating, and everthings is fine!!!
thenoob Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 How do you change the appwait? I think the ttx stuff hasn't been working for because of this
mrbatfunk Posted October 24, 2016 Author Posted October 24, 2016 You can do it through rlauncher ui. Choose your taito type x system and then click on the modules tab. Highlight pclauncher then click "edit system specific mosule settings". From there you select the game. There is even an option to let RL find the app wait.
thenoob Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 By appwait are we meaning the batch file? This is the part of taito that's got me all piled up
mrbatfunk Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 No. The batch files is what runs the exe via games own launcher. In each TTX game folder, there is a game.exe or similar which is the appwait exe. You can click the cog icon next to the appwait field in the Rocket Launcher UI I mentioned in the previous post. Select No and then RL will launch the .bat file, which in turn runs the exe than we are waiting for. Control-Q I think (it tells you) captures the .exe we need and automatically iuputs it into the appwait field. Same process goes for the fadetitle if you need to use it.
Metalzoic Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Yes like mrbatfunk said. What you would set as your AppWaitExe is whichever exe file you want RocketLauncher to wait for and focus on. This varies by game (for example Mortal Kombat X is MK10. Exe) , but most TTX games it's game.exe Not all PC games need an AppWaitExe or FadeTitle set, but if you have issues it's one of the first things you should check. FYI all of the modules have instructions which usually explain how to set them up. Sent from my SM-G935V
mrbatfunk Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 PROGRESS, sort of. If i change to 1024 x 768 resolution in game, it reproduces the problem and hyperspin barges to the front. Not all games though, just the ones that i had problems with. Im currently running 5 pc games windowed as a temporary fix. Im thinking probably my gpu drivers. Being a laptop board/integrated gpu, the newer catalyst stuff can be problematic so im using vanilla ati drivers. Figured out my type x tetris and arcana heart 2.1 focus problems . It is explorer stealing focus. I cant believe I did not try that first. At least I learned about the Game Loader. Every cloud.... Still got the resolution problem on pc games @ 1024x768. Updated to the newest catalyst drivers my gpu supports, (2015) but still the same.
