Stormyblade Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Well, after getting an SSD and reloading everything, and following the wonderful YouTube videos by SimplyAustin, I am now getting MAME and Daphne to work rather well within Hyperspin. However, I am noticing that many of the games are looking rather blocky or pixelated and that many of the bezels don't seem to quite fit within the screen. I'm not running anything but MAME and Daphne and it's not a top-end computer. The specs: Intel Quad Q9450, 3GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 9800GT. Is there something I'm missing that allows the games to look nice (no blockiness or heavy pixelation) and allows the bezels to completely fit on the screen? One last thing, it's not a widescreen monitor, so all the media files I downloaded from here and EmuMovies are standard. Thanks in advance.
gigapig Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Daphne you can set the resolution in the setting but really they were low resolution in the first place so the best you can do is get better video files or the HD versions. Also use a bezel that put the game in its native resolution. Stretching them to 1080 is going to be blocky. For mame if you don't want to use shaders then set Bilinear filtering to true in RLUI under the module settings. If you want to use shaders then try out GLSL (click my signature for a video on the subject.) Bezels require an ini file which has been set for your screen resolution so make sure you have the ini file in the folder named after the game. If it still no good post a screen shot.
Metalzoic Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 And make sure you're using RocketLauncher only bezels with RocketLauncher and Mame only bezels through MAME.
Stormyblade Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Thanks to both of you for those replies. I'll check out the videos in Gigapig's sig - I went there and saw he's got a whole bunch. One of them should tell me what, if anything, is set up incorrectly. As for the Daphne games, it's set up and working and I don't know where to buy the HD versions of the video files. A Google search pointed me towards Steam but that's just to play them in HD.
