Regarding Controller applications

Hi Everyone,

Finally I have made 30 systems in the hyper spin after 6 days of downloading and its all on my 2tb External hard drive. I own a arcade cabinet with mame on it and I have plugged everything in and all the hyper spin features come up and I can play as long as I have my keyboard connected for some games and others work straight onto the 2 joysticks on the arcade machine..

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this set up for all my emulators for the games, or do I do this through the Hyper-hq controllers area..(Picture attached)

Or do I download another controller Apllication to do all this for me

I am new to controller mapping so I just need a friendly point in the right direction to start reading and understanding how to sort this out..

Any links or previous discussion links would be greatful as I really would like to get all these games/emulators all set up and start playing..

Thanks

Patto

The controls in HyperHQ are only for controlling Hyperspin, not the games run through emulators. If I remember correctly there is a bug with these controls in HyperHQ so you are best to leave them disabled, especially the trackball and spinner.

Personally I use JoytoKey for my controller mapping but Xpadder works just as fine. You want to go in RocketLauncher > Keymapper. From there you can choose whichever mapping software you'd like and add a Game, Emulator or System profile. For Global you want to add a Rocketlauncher profile so you can control HyperPause and I added in a Frontend profile too, but since it's so long ago I don't know if the latter is a requirement.

Next step would be to add profiles for each system. I usually only include a system profile but for some games (Arcade PC) I also use a game profile if the keys don't match the system profile. I'll hope this will guide you in the correct direction.

If you have Hyperspin 1.4 then it does work with controllers but not very well so it's best to leave it.

Like Yeuxkes has said use a keymapper of your choice, I have recently install JoyToKey on my cab and I'm really happy with it. Follow Spawks excellent guide to set it up and I have add it as a start up program in Windows.

You will need to set controls in most emulators and then create a blank system or game profile in Rocketlauncher UI. If you don't create the blank profile then your HyperSpin profile may interfere with the controls you set in the emulator.

Also remember to check the box below on every profile you create.

Oh and you don't need a keymapper for Mame.
