Finally setting up DOSbox after all these years but ran into a problem. The DOSbox module says you need an enhanced version of Dosbox. Downloaded that but when I went to setup the path in Rocketlauncher and I can't. DOSBox does not exist in the list of emulators. There an option for DFend but that's the only option for DOS that I see. What do I do now?

MS-dos is one of the few systems i dont have fully setup or use in Hyperspin. Im not spending more time setting it up than playing the games :D a ton of games boot up with

no nag on a few websites. However it is one of the few systems I set up a ton of games with LaunchBox. Im only free user atm not Big box. but will make the jump eventually. Over

a period of time on an old PC i setup and play them thru Launchbox. I have backed that up and copied to my PC to use and worked np. Its still fairly tedious to click and setup each game

But Launchbox is extremely simple in that column. I like both Hyperspin & LB, for the most part with RocketLauncher, they launch the game so i can play it :)

The enhanced version is included with the eXoDOS set. Or just look up Dos BOX SVN Daum

Wait, what? There is definitely a module for DOSBOX

For DOS, you should have 3 modules: DOSBox, DFend and ScummVM. Did you delete them? Maybe re-DL RL and see if the modules are in the package???

If you have the eXoDos set then you should use DOSBox and be sure to read the module notes. If you are just getting 1 or 2 from wherever, then I hear DFend is super easy to use. I am not too familiar with scummVM but I am pretty sure it's only for the really old games (like txt stuff).

That's not it. I know there's a module. I can't set up the emulator.

Emulators > Global

There's not DOSBox there to setup. Rocketlauncher does not know the path of the emulator so I can't tell it to use DOSBox

So when I select Micorsoft MS-DOS and click the emulators tab to setup my Roms and emu, the only 2 options are DFEnd and ScummVM

I have 3 different builds listed... in any case you can add it back in by clicking the green plus sign.

Emulator: DOSBox SVN

Extensions: zip|conf

Module: ..\DOSBox\DOSBox.ahk

Ok thanks a lot guys. I went ahead and added a new emulator. Everything is workign now. Not sure why mine was missing. Thought maybe there was some other settings in the latest Rocketlauncher.

Another question I have. To get it to save games, do I need to extract all my games? From reading the module, it seems like that's the only way (or I can keep them in the temp folder) but that seems like a waste of HD space.

Unfortunately you will have to set "7z_delete_temp" to false to not delete your save games files... but there is never any need to manually unpack anything, leave that to exodos/the module.

You don't have to setup the games individually anymore? maybe I was over looking something (or doing something the hard way)

but haven't taken a look at this in some time, maybe since HS was updated with git, lol. Is it fairly quick to get the full eXoDos set, setup? I used to have a bunch of games

setup but moved away from it. Have got a chance to re-play and check out some of the games again was great via websites & messing with launchbox, just checking it out.

No, you don't have to set them up individually. Just download the exoDos set, extract the 300GB file and you will get all the games properly renamed and in individual zip files. Download the Enhanced SVN version of DOSbox. Point Rocketlauncher to the emulator, add your rom folder and you're done. Just read the module notes. You have to turn on 7z and set Skip Cheks to Rom Only. That's it, you're done!

No, games are saves into the !dos game Directories, which exist for zipped or extracted setups

Super quick. Just download the eXoDOS set and you're nearly done

Sounds good & a lot easier than i remember. I don't mind putting in some setup time :) just try to minimise it, if possible. Most things are saved

now and setup pretty fast. I'm thankful for the people that have invested some heavy time and effort into creating the emulators and modules,

that allows me to launch them and play. Its incredible !!!

Win 3.x is identical to setup and equally nostalgic

Has anyone been able to run a bezel without it showing the blue window line around the emu screen? I can hide it with a bezel but I would need to add a bit of bezel at the bottom and top of screen. I would rather just have bezel on the sides. I was able to do it with DFend but not DosBox. It's a minor thing but still...
